Santa Fe Morning
Name of Maker: rel319
Santa Fe Morning - The fabric on this quilt was fused, then free motion sewing was done. To add a little more depth, I used a built in decorative stitch around some of the areas.
Homage to Phyillis
Name of Maker: rel319
Homage to Phyillis - Abstract art quilt.
Bernina Butterflies
Name of Maker: Bonnie Lyn McCaffery
Bernina Butterflies - My middle daughter Carly's face handpainted using the technique in my "Portrait Quilts: Painted Faces You Can Do" book. Butterflies are machine embroidered on my Bernina. Butterfly pattern available on BerninaUSA.com
Skulls in Lava
Name of Maker: Ann Towns
Skulls in Lava - I made this quilt for my teenage son. He found some black and white skull fabric and a Thimbleberries Christmas print he said looks like lava. The blocks are a Spiders Web block and are paper pieced.
Warm Wishes
Name of Maker: Linda
Warm Wishes - Made for our God Daughter for her wedding. I used log cabin signature blocks for family & friends to share warm wishes with them on their special day.
Harvest Night
Name of Maker: Ann Towns
Harvest Night - I got this block pattern from a paper pieced star pattern book, I don't remember which one. This was a Christmas gift for my mother.
Nick's Fish
Name of Maker: Ann Towns
Nick's Fish - I embroidered different sea creatures and added them as the center to the crazy quilt blocks. Yes I know ducks don;t live in the ocean :-) But it's a fun quilt for my then newborn. I stippled around each embroidery and outline quilted the rest.
Balloon Kitty
Name of Maker: Ruthmci
Balloon Kitty - This kitty makes me smile every time I look at him. He's probably just about as naughty as my former kitty of the same color and proportions!
Deer at Dusk
Name of Maker: Ruthmci
Deer at Dusk - The other McKenna Ryan wallhanging I've actually completed.
Deer at night
Name of Maker: Ruthmci
Deer at night - I love McKenna Ryan's patterns--at least I got two small ones done. There are more waiting...
Easter Nostalgia
Name of Maker: Ruthmci
Easter Nostalgia - Purchased kit from In Between Stitches in Livermore, California (Alex's stomping grounds). The adorable chicks and bunnies appear to have been scanned from vintage Easter cards.
First Cut 2006
Name of Maker: Amy Cohn
First Cut 2006 - This quilt was made from "first cuts" - one of every fabric that came into The Quilt Scene during 2006. I made it as a surprise for my boss, Lucy.
Uncle Sam
Name of Maker: Linda McCutcheon
Uncle Sam - This was done as my tribute to 9/11 events. The label reads "celebrating America's freedom." I wanted to concentrate on the positives of our nation, rather than the sorrow of those events. I love the playfulness, creative freedom, and joy that exuberates from this quilt. I hang it every year from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I used a variegated red-white-blue thread for the quilting. This pattern appeared in Quiltmakers Magazine.
Ocean Waves
Name of Maker: Linda McCutcheon
Ocean Waves - This is a small wall quilt designed with the traditional Amish pattern "Ocean Waves." I appreciated the purity and skill used in the Amish designs, and wanted to experience making an Amish quilt myself. It is hand-quilted in-the-ditch with a design in the red border and each center block, and "Baptist Curves" in the border. This is one of my favorite quilts.
Autumn Beauty
Name of Maker: Linda McCutcheon
Autumn Beauty - Followed suggestions in book "Clever Quilts." Cut apart the panel motifs and added pinwheels and 4-patch blocks to fill in; also added "coping strips" when the motifs didn't quite "measure up" to the right dimensions. Enjoyed this project immensely.
Name of Maker: Amanda Jane Hussein
"The Love You Take is Equal to the Love You Make" - My folks are far away so I wanted to send a nicely framed bunch of photos.
