Happy 80th Birthday, Dad!!
Name of Maker: Kristin Larkin Farwig
Happy 80th Birthday, Dad!! - I made this quilt to commemorate my father's 80th birthday. I scanned over 350 photos into my computer, then grouped them into sections which represented the major areas of my father's life. I ultimately created 20 photo collages which were then printed onto fabric sheets in an HP inkjet printer and pieced together with sashing. My father is a former writer and WWII veteran who served on a submarine in the Navy. He is a very special and unique person. He has self-published 2 books - "To See What is Not Shown", poetry, and "Aches and Gains", an autobiography.

Fisherman's Dream
Name of Maker: Kristin Farwig
Fisherman's Dream - This is my first and only paper pieced project. This pattern was taught in a class at a my LQS, but I had not known about it. The only instruction on paper piecing I had was a private lesson of 15 - 30 minutes. I thought I would lose my sanity making this quilt. Each fish block has approximately 45 pieces. And sewing upside down and backwards was challenging, especially for someone with spatial issues! Unfortunately, I didn't do a very good job squaring this up, but I like it anyway!
Joey's Airplane Quilt
Name of Maker: quiltin-momma
Joey's Airplane Quilt - This was a paper-pieced pattern from the 30's. Fabric came from a generous quilter friend in Australia! For my son, who loves airplanes.
Organized Chaos
Name of Maker: Glad
Organized Chaos - This is my proudest moment as a quilter... I'm so excited about the outcome. I've always loved optical illusions and the Tumbling Blocks pattern has always been on my to-do list. I chose to use a huge variety of fabrics using mostly batiks, "wild" prints, and hand-dyed fabrics.

Crazy Patch Sewing Machine Cover

Crazy Patch Sewing Machine Cover - I had so many scraps left over from the quilts I had made that I decided to make myself a new sewing machine cover. I did it based on my memory of a pattern I had seen probably a year or so earlier. I like it! So much cuter than my old one. I love the green fabric, I'm so glad I had some left over from "Bridget's Quilt".
