The Living Christ - The reason I wanted so badly to do this Lenten Project and celebrate
through quilting the coming of Easter is my belief in "The Living Christ"
a document published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
telling what we belive about Christ Resurrected. It doesn't explain why
we do not have crosses in the LDS churches, but gives a glimpse into what
we believe and why Easter is a sacred holiday for us. Mormons are
Christians! We just don't follow the Nicean Creed decisions defining
God. (Ahh, but that would be another quilt!)
Medical Cats - Made for my sister, who is a medical secretary. Rail fence, simple squares and appliqued fussy cut square pictures of cats dressed as doctors, nurses and patients.
Holyrood Star - Made for my acupuncturist! Using some original fabrics, sourced from the USA and UK. Slightly adapted from the original pattern with more yellow, an appliqued picture centre and extra border.
Starlight Retreat - Mystery Quilt from Glad Creations, you don't know what you are making until the final clue. Donated to animal shelter and raffle raised $2200.00 (approx.)
Wedding Sunrise - Designed as a wedding gift and made out of two shades of washable chamuese satin. Techniques used were turned under applique, applipiecing, and trapunto, along with heavy freemotion machine quilting.
90th Birthday Memory Quilt - I used the log cabin design to frame the photographs showing my mother's life. It was given to her - in England - for her 90th birthday. After her death last December, I brought the quilt back to Vancouver so I can keep the memories on my wall.
Jack and Andy go Brightly - Two traditional Blocks with the sashing in the center form an all new blended block. Juried into Quilters Heritage Celebration April 2007
Kentucky Chain - A dare from Mr Moonwoman to make a quilt totally from my stash. Block is from Jinny Beyer's book of blocks and made entirely from my stash.
Spin Cycle - Spin Cycle is a Give & Take Applique(tm) pattern designed for my company, Patchwork Studio. It is a 'new way to fuse'! I am currently working on more designs for this pattern series.
