Star of the Orient - My daughter & I picked the material when she was in college. There are 1,500 pieces and over 2,000 stitch in the dtich seams. I loved making it for her!

Floating Patchwork Cubes - During the More Patchwork Illusions class at Quilt University, Karen Combs taught the class how to draw blocks to give the illusion of depth. These blocks are pieced and then appliqued to the background. I chose a striped fabric and stitched along every other stripe for the quilting. I chose a Seminole pieced border.

look no yellow - Was asked to make a quilt for some friends and the only stipulation was no yellow

Primitive Patchwork Quilt-A Class with Ricky Tims - Ricky Tims taught a one day class here in Arroyo Grande for the Central Coast Quilt Guild and I was lucky enough to be able to attend. I was a very new quilter and when he told the class to tear their fabric into strips approximately 2 and a half inches wide it did not bother me, I just tore the fabric into strips. Some of the long time quilters were having a very hard time following those instructions. It took me about a year and a half to finish the quilt but our daughter loves it.

Swirling Stars for Samantha - This quilt is made in shades of purple, our youngest granddaughter's favorite color. I made this quilt while in Bobbi Porter's Adult Education Quilting class. I named the quilt Swirling Stars for Samantha because our granddaughter was very interested in the Astronomy Picture of the Day.

Courthouse Stars - Quilt was designed by Mary Huey on Electric Quilt as mystery quilt and distributed in six installments (one per month)

Old Fashioned Hearts - This quilt was made for our middle granddaughter and is pink, her favorite color. The hearts are appliqued with the embroidery module and then the log cabin strips were added to the center blocks. I included Stephanie's name and birthday, pieced into the top and bottom border.

Summer Time - A sampler style wall hanging filled with summer delights - 3-D butterfly, embroidered sunflower button and appliqued metallic star.

Grandma's Cats - Original setting for Darcy Ashton's cat designs; made at a guild retreat as a gift for my grandmother's 83rd birthday.

Kaleidoscope Quilt - I have a weakness for blues and love batiks, so that's what I used.

Spring Baskets - Basket block from Sally Collin's book The Art of Machine Piecing. Machine embroidered tulips on fabric painted with 3 different shades of Lumiere. 5 shades of hand dyed yellow to orange in the stars.

Tulips - Fused applique - finally, I can finish an applique project in my lifetime. ;-)
