The Frog Pond - I made this quilt in the class I took in Fallbrook, CA taught by Karen Cunagin. Karen is a great fiber aritist and teaches Artful Quilting through Palomar College. As a new quilter she expanded my understanding of what quilts are.
The quilt was made for my grandson's 8th birthday. He still uses it on his bed.
Night Skies - I made this quilt for my daughter and son-in-laws 20th Wedding Anniversary. The woman at the local quilt shop told me I could not make a king size quilt in one month, but I did. Of course, this is a very quick block. The quilt was made in strips and then sewn together with strips on the back to cover the seams. As a new quilter I really did not know what I was doing!
Americana Quilt Sampler - This is the first quilt I made. The design was from an Americana Sampler class I took at JoAnn in Temecula, CA in December 2003. I finished the quilt in March, 2004. This quilt is on my bed.
Van Buren County - My in-laws love all nature and especially items found in Van Buren County Iowa, so I wanted to make a quilt they could use to reflect on favorite things. For months, everytime I went in a shop I was looking for prints of items that reminded me of VB County. Each window depicts an item they would see in this area. I was lucky enough to find the back fabric of wildlife paw prints on clearance at Hancocks and discovered a quilting motif of cat-tails!
Elegant Sue - My Mother made a "Dutch Doll" quilt out of my little dresses when I was a small child.
I traced over the pattern in the quilt and used my own idea as to how to dress each
girl. I used heart material for their skits and solids for the other accessories. I used
machine embrodiery and other types of embellishments
Handkerchief Quilt - My inspiration for this quilt were the handkerchiefs that belonged to my Mother.
I also collected a few other vintage handkerchiefs and let my mind to the
rest. I loved making this quilt.
Circle Play - Square blocks are made up of two, three or four triangles with different
flowered fabric. In the center is a circle with embroidery stitches around the
edges. I made drapes with jabos with the dominant fabric. The main
fabric is from Vienna Nights by Moda
African Equator - I made the quilt for an international contest at Aschaffenburg (Germany) that was held during September 28-30 2007. The theme for the contest was “Colors of Africa”. The ideas behind my design are the following: The colors of Africa are the colors of a continent that is divided in two by the equator. The colors are under the influence of this division. The face of Africa is also divided in two.
I am very happy to tell you I won the first place prize with this quilt, a Bernina 440QE!

Nana's Original - This quilt has flowered fabrics in pastels and pink, green and yellow chenille. The
very bottom has prairie points made from the flowered pastels.
Jaden's Christmas 2007 Quilt - Embroidered frogs are from Artistic Threadworks. Used EQ6 to draw the quilt, most quilting is stitch in the ditch but got a little braver this time using my new BSR to stipple quilt some of the colored squares.
Scrappy Fall Sampler - I had a thing for Samplers and bought several kits. This one actually got completed....almost...still doesn't have the binding finished but it got included on 'picture day'. Has Hobbs Heirloom wool batting & 1 piece back.
