The Frog Pond
Name of Maker: Charlotte Kewish
The Frog Pond - I made this quilt in the class I took in Fallbrook, CA taught by Karen Cunagin. Karen is a great fiber aritist and teaches Artful Quilting through Palomar College. As a new quilter she expanded my understanding of what quilts are. The quilt was made for my grandson's 8th birthday. He still uses it on his bed.
Night Skies
Name of Maker: Charlotte Kewish
Night Skies - I made this quilt for my daughter and son-in-laws 20th Wedding Anniversary. The woman at the local quilt shop told me I could not make a king size quilt in one month, but I did. Of course, this is a very quick block. The quilt was made in strips and then sewn together with strips on the back to cover the seams. As a new quilter I really did not know what I was doing!

Van Buren County
Name of Maker: Liz V
Van Buren County - My in-laws love all nature and especially items found in Van Buren County Iowa, so I wanted to make a quilt they could use to reflect on favorite things. For months, everytime I went in a shop I was looking for prints of items that reminded me of VB County. Each window depicts an item they would see in this area. I was lucky enough to find the back fabric of wildlife paw prints on clearance at Hancocks and discovered a quilting motif of cat-tails!

Name of Maker: Eugenie
African Equator - I made the quilt for an international contest at Aschaffenburg (Germany) that was held during September 28-30 2007. The theme for the contest was “Colors of Africa”. The ideas behind my design are the following: The colors of Africa are the colors of a continent that is divided in two by the equator. The colors are under the influence of this division. The face of Africa is also divided in two. I am very happy to tell you I won the first place prize with this quilt, a Bernina 440QE! More info about the contest is at: http://www.main-quiltfestival.de/Wettbewerb.79.0.html More pictures of the quilt can be seen here. http://www.xs4all.nl/~mecano/Project-Q/
