Leanne's House Block of the Month - This is a block of the month project. I enjoyed the process very much. Lots of embroidery and it was suggested on the finishing instructions to hand quilt it.......so I did. I thought the hand quilting fit quite well with the embroidery.

While our parents were out - I was asked to babysit while my 3 grandchildren were taking turns suffering with the chicken pox. We worked on the blocks while their parents were at work and hid it each evening. I put it together for a Christmas gift for Mom & Dad

Spartan Sunshine - Our son's girlfriend, Erin, is such a wonderful, smart, talented girl that I just had to make her a quilt to celebrate her high school graduation. I didn't have much time, but I loved these bright, sunshiny colors - perfect for someone like her, with red hair, headed to MSU! (Go Green!) She knew nothing about it until she came to the quilt show yesterday and saw it hanging there with her name on the quilt label. Fun!

Winter Night - This quilt was pieced by our 20 year old daughter, Leah, who is a college student and then quilted professionally. Didn't they both do a wonderful job?

Blueberry Braid - I made this quilt for our son, Charlie's, high school graduation. He chose the pattern, variation and color, and together we spent a fun afternoon choosing the fabrics. In the borders, I have quilted about 150 words -- his friends and favorite foods, books, movies, music, vacations, activities, teachers, plus school names, sports words, etc. Unfortunately, with the matching thread, the words don't show, but he says that he knows they are there!

Lime Rickey with a Cherry Twist - This was my first foray into bargello. It was quite enjoyable! Quilted on my Bernina 440QE.

Brothers in Arms - Fused appliqué was used to create this piece inspired by a photo of my grandfather and his best man on his wedding day in 1937. A clear acrylic was applied to enhance the look of an old photograph.

Golden Iris - This is a small wallhanging in stained glass from a pattern by Claire Higgott published in British Patchwork and Quilting.

Butterfly - This was a block made based on the theme of fans. Completed group quilt was donated to Royal Berkshire Hospital Reading and hangs in their entrance hall.

Tulips in the Park - I bought the entire fabic kit years ago but had to work up the nerve to tackle the hand applique. I actually started this about 2yrs ago and finally finished the applique in late Febuary and then sent it out to get quilted. I waited 'til April to see the wonderful Longarm quilting. She trapuntoed all the applique so they pop and really add dimension to the quilt. Im really proud of all the work on this quilt.
