Angie's Apple Quilt - A tradition in our family is for the kids to get an "Apple Quilt" of some kind. I've made several, but this one is my favorite. The first 'Apple Quilt' which was owned by my grandmother is now faded and ragged after 50 years of love!

OBAMA 2008 - 2007/2008 Guild Challenge required recycled textile materials. Vintage decorator silk and silk blend fabric samples, including the small attached optional colorway swatches. Vintage cotton chintz backing. Each corner star is a different color.

Kimono 2

Kimono 2 - Four-D kimono is placed on a textured and dimensional lattice background. The stitching around the background made it puff out, so the kimono really stands out. Karen Contreraz of Fort Lauderdale, FL, taught the lattice work technique at Azar's in Davie, FL.

Donia's Rooster - Donia, my daughter's mother-in-law, loves roosters. This Embroidery Library rooster, all 111,000 stitches of him, made a magnificent little wallhanging for Donia's home. Presented for Christmas, 2006.

50th anniversary signature quilt

50th anniversary signature quilt - made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of my parents, the quilt top was presented as a surprise for my parents at their anniversary celebration. There are over 400 signatures including one from the college professor in whose class they met! Some signature blocks tell stories, or have the family brand as our family was part of a community of 4 and 5 generation ranchers in New MExico.

Every Bunny Loves Some Bunny Sometime - Applique bunny outlined in blanket stitch. Quilting was done over tracing paper. 100% cotton throughout. Eyes and noses were hand embroidered with embroidery floss. I loved this quilt so much it was difficult to give away. Auctioned to benefit West Bonner County Library.
My Idea of a Pastel Baby Quilt

My Idea of a Pastel Baby Quilt - Applique traced onto freezer paper, ironed to fabric, cut out, then turn seam allowance, glue to back of the freezer paper (nonsticky side). Pin applique to b&w fabric over novelty fabric so its raw edges are covered by applique. Gently rinse to release glue, slit back side and pull out freezer paper with tweezers.
