Kaleidoscope Dreams
Name of Maker: Stiina
Kaleidoscope Dreams - The primary 12 blocks were from The Back Door First Saturday Sampler. Using leftover fabric from the blocks and extra fat quarters, I designed setting squares and the outer border. It was said that the quilt was too busy to use a pieced border, but I didn't have enough background to make the border, so I did what history describes of past quilters, I made do with what I had. I used a golden resting strip before the pieced border and finished with a binding of the same golden fabric. I backed it in a royal blue flannel with a small, primary color dot pattern. I used a thin cotton batting that allows the quilt to drape wonderfully. I used my Gammill Classic Plus long arm and a panto called "Sunny Day" with red, white, and blue variegated thread. It has become one of my favorite quilts.

Matrix--A Ricky Tims Design
Name of Maker: MissesStitches
Matrix--A Ricky Tims Design - I was motivated to make a Ricky Tims quilt. So I started with a piece of fabric that I had hand-dyed with a friend one day. The dye job didn't exactly turn out very well. Way too much of toomuch! I cut it into strips, rearranged them, and sewed them together. The result was something a lot prettier than it had started out! It was great fun, and went fast. PS. It is my husband's favorite quilt.
