Brenda's Mountains - Quilt is about full size done in earth tone colors on tan and cream colored back ground. My sister-in-law asked me to make the quilt for my nieces graduation from nursing school when she got her RN pin.
A Touch of Cubes - Made wallhanging with Mckean Ryens fabric sweet insperations all are veragated colored. I love her fabric. I made the cubes pop out of the quilt to continue making the color of the bars.
Fleurs de Feu - Fleurs de Feu a été fait pour le concours organisé par la commune de Vernier sur le thème Boléro de Ravel, Il a été sélectionné pour cette compétition qui est une des plus difficile dans notre pays.
Nested Development - Again, part of my art quilt workbook series. The technique for this one was "collage". It really did turn into a collage as I started to make it, hated it, cut it apart, added more, kept working on it, made a mess, then finally reached a stage where I liked it.
Jewels on Black - This is the 2nd class I ever took. I think the name of the block is Trip Around the World. I loved the colours. I learned a lot from making this.
Tamara Leaves Me - My guild had an art quilt show at the local art and cultural center. The theme was Quilt and Other Art Forms. The quilts were inspired by other forms of art be it paintings, poetry, sculpture or whatever. My sister is a professional artist. I did this from one of her water colours. It was chosen as the entry displayed on the mailer announcements.
Magnolias for Marjorie - This is the 2nd quilt I ever made. I took a class from the designer at the quilt store in Houston where I learned to quilt. It hangs in my bedroom.
Mixed Up But Not Crazy - I call this my $1700 quilt. My dog swallowed a needle that I dropped while finishing the binding. Vet bills totalled $1700. Tanner (my dog) is just fine.
Triple Trillium - This was made for Milwaukee Art Quilters Challenge ... we had to have a red rattail cord run in one side and do something within the quilt and then run out the other side. These quilts when hung in a show together will be attached with the rattail cords holding them together.
Cousins - This wall hanging was made from fabric purchased by me in the Netherlands, or sent to me by my relative Margreeth. The sashing is from Budapest.
Amsterdam Memories - This wall hanging was an entry in the Black and White "family values" challenge of the Clamshell Quilt Guild, and came in second place.
Starry Patches James - Like John, James loves to feel the different textures in this minkee and chenille quilt. I planned on making one quilt before realizing twins were on the way, so I made two with different color fabrics. The quilt was completed in October 2006.
