Beat Army!
Name of Maker: MK Runyan
Beat Army! - One of my favorite events in December (starting during my college years) is the annual Army Navy Football Game. The first game occurred in 1890, with Navy winning 24 - 0. With all the demands as a Midshipman (I am a USNA Class of 1990 graduate), there is nothing better than the competition with Army on the gridiron! One of the most meaningful parts of the event is knowing that although we are competitors during this game, shortly after, we will defend our Country as teammates. This quilt is a photo transfer of a Army Navy program from 1936 (long before women could be midshipmen). The back of the quilt (pics in my profile) include a copy of a game ticket from 1936 and a pic of me during my midshipman days. These games are always a FAVORITE part of December for me! God Bless all our Sailors, Soldiers, Marines and Airmen serving all over the world!
