Christmas is: - This holiday wall quilt is a gift to my sister. It is stitched in redwork style and quilted on the border. Measurements 13 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches.
Evening Garden Stroll - This quilt was made to raffle off at our local Garden Club Walk. The material is Moda Sacutuary and the center blocks where made from Charm Paks.
In Remembrance - I thought I'd post this quilt that I made "In Remembrance" of Him, to honor Him. I used photos of a young man in our church, Jerry McGahuey, as a model for my painting. The hair part is from his wife, Wendy. It was challenging to take on this adventure. The quilt made the trip to the Houston & Paducah jurried shows.
Celebrating Dax - Celebrating Dax is a traditional "blackwork" quilt featuring 38 blocks depicting activities a young boy might try. It was made for my son in celebration of the birth of his first child born September 14, 2007.
My Crazy Quilt - I made this quilt to (1) try my hand at making a crazy quilt, and (2) to use up some articles of clothing I loved and didn't want to discard. I also gave my new sewing machine a workout.
Unka Don's Camo - Unka Don is a hunter (camera) and collector and enjoys camouflage, so I made him a camouflage quilt throw where he could "hide," stay cozy and watch TV. I made sure his wife could find him by tying the quilt with red yarn...like laser beams!!! All in fun.
All cotton...approx. 52" X 52".
Patriotic Pineapple - Pattern wasn't published but block layouts were highlighted in optional settings along with original quilt by Allison Lockwood. I changed the border and colors
Christmas Challenge - pieced far too long ago, basted but still needs quilting. Maybe this is the year I will finally get around to finishing the quilt.
A Walk in the Fall - This quilt raised $2500 for the Chaffee County Mammography fund - - made in honor of 3 friends who are all breast cancer survivors. I used 25 different neutrals and 33 prints in this scrappy version. It was the first quilt I completed on my longarm, and I hated to part with it. Fortunately the raffle winner is nearby, so I guess I could always "visit"!
Swallowtail with Purple Coneflower - This quilt was inspired by a photo I took in my garden. The butterfly and flowers were painted on PFD using Tsukineko inks, then fused to a hand dyed background. This technique was taught in a workshop by Patt Blair.
