"B"- One with his music - I used Ricky's Convergence pattern as my background. The silhouette is of my grandson, taken from a photo, enlarged 150% then fused. Details then stitched in grey thread.

balancing act - a quilt guild challenge of a self portrait. I was having a very bad year and it wasn't getting any better!! My trying to "balance" was falling short. The challenge was to use their very unusual fabrics with at least 2 inches showing together.

Fond Farewell - Made from a photo I took of a Hibiscus in my front yard using techniques by Susan Purney Mark for my boss when she moved to a new position at another library. I used Quilted Treasures photo cotton fabric and organza to print my photo on fabric.

body of water - This is an improvised pieced quilt constructed using hand dyed batiks I bought in a scrap bundle from Bold Over Batiks in 1992, I _think_. I found it again recently during a renovation of our downstairs at home. It is still unfinished but I am sharing it here in case it sinks below the surface of my attention again. (grin) I am really enjoying working with these intense colors!

Suzan's Bakery - I like to bake more than cook so I made this to display in my kitchen!

Grandmother Could Ride - Photo of my grandmother. Her necklace and earrings are attached to the quilt.

Steven's Flannels - This is the standard Turning Twenty pattern. My son, Steven, purchased a majority of the flannel fat quarters for me in 2007 for a Christmas present. There is a wonderful quilt store that specializes in flannels, Tala's of North Adams Ma, in the town where he goes to school. I used those fat quarters and a few others to make the Turning Twenty blocks. The border is a brushed polyester - very soft. It will go out to be machine quilted and I will update the picture and the entry when it comes back.

garden lattice - This was an assignment in Rita's quilt class. I began with a floral background and pulled 2 colors for the lattice. Time to quilt this UFO!

Chicken Ordiance Passes - Art Quilt made with Mostly painted fabric. Started in a Phil Beaver's workshop.

fishing stars - I took a paper piecing class from Carol Doak and went home to raid my stash. I loved the contrast of the fiery stars and the dark blue. Now I need to quilt it!

advice from home - Advice for college quilted into border - "respect, faith, diligence, chastity, etc." :) Fabrics pulled from stash by son, stars formed in inner border between 6" squares.

Edison Quilt #1 - This is my first quilt made when I took a class in 1985. My young daughters (8 and 10) helped me hand quilt it while we were on a trip in the Grand Tetons.

Bubbieface quilt - this is the second quilt that I made. I made it for my good friends Karen & Bruce

Wizard Of Oz - I had a poster of the Wizard Of Oz and I just wanted to see if I could make an adaptation of the poster in fabric. I used the freezer paper method. I hung up the poster and put my freezer paper next to it and tried to redraw the picture, then I used steam a seam and re-created the poster as best I could. I entered it in a show, but it didn't win any awards.

playtime - Inspired by Chris & Sean, silk organza shadows are machine appliqued on pieced cotton background. I still need to bind and quilt this one.

Terns & Ferns - Adapted from the pattern on the CD used with EQ6. Partially quilted.
