Transportation - Back in the Day - Although I have many quilts in-process, this is the first piece I have completely finished and quilted thanks to the endless inspiration of my friend and designer of this quilt; Cindy Ebbe. Yes like all great quilters, I have works (plural) in process… more commonly known as “UFO’s” (unfinished objects). The inspiration to create this quilt came from my energetic grand-boys and the beautiful and timeless illustrations of the child-like modes of transportation fabrics by Michael Miller. For me, it’s reminiscent of a much simpler and carefree era in America.

pink pigs - Leslie saw the applique design on the internet and I drew the pattern for the applique based on that. I added the pieces on pig print fabrics between since she had been collecting them and wanted to use them in the quilt. I don`t use pink much in my own quilts, but this is her favorite color. Her boyfriends mother hand quilted it.

Stars - I began this quilt as part of a class taken at the Nashville Quilt Show in 2007. I finished it in April of 2008 and gave it to a dear friend of mine for her 50th birthday. The class I took was with Bethany Reynolds "Stack N Wack" Quilts

Wedding Flowers - Quilting this for friend that got married. The backing is memory quilt from the after rehearsal dinner and wedding shower

Dragonfly Dance - This was from a class taken at Williamsburg Quilt Festival.....Can't remember the Teachers name...but was a great class.

Blooming Catfish - My favorite things are orange and other bright colors and cats...which both are in this quilt

The Little Pink Quilt - This is a doll quilt and pillow that I made for a friend's child for Christmas 2008.

Mom's Christmas Quilt - I was working in Ogunquit, Maine, and was quite taken with the quilt on the bed in my room.... it was in all red, white, and blues.... but I was so taken by it that I ran out and bought graph paper and copied down the pattern exactly... Yes, I realize it's just an around the world... but I was new to quilting.... Anyway, I loved how it translated into Christmas Fabrics, and my Mom was very surprised and pleased when she received this for Christmas!

Three Bad Dogs - A tribute to our three labs, Scooby, speedy and Smokey. A Christmas gift for my husband, Rick. Made with plaid flannels, hand quilted big stitch with perle cotton. Engraved silver bone dog tags.
