Winding Ways Batik - I love blue and batiks and I wanted a new quilt for my bed.

Barbie - The pink and purple color theme made my mother name this quilt the barbie quilt. It was made for the birth of my youngest daughter.

Mountain Landscape - Landscape Quilt wall hanging. Mountains, trees and how to color fabric.

Work Trucks - Cement and dump truck applique with pieced road boarders.

Peak a Boo Bears - This was the first quilt I made. I made it for my son. I found fabric with little bears in the pockets of denim jeans. and wanted to make them the focas. I found this pattern for friendship stars with a ribbon design.

Mississippi Flyway - I have actually make 3 of these quilts now. The first was made for the daughter of one of my employees who was getting married in 2000. The backgroud fabric says millenium. I also taught 2 other of my employees to make this quilt and I made a smaller wall quilt for another. So I finally made myself one, but I didn't finish it until 2008! So much for my millenium quilt!

Table Runner

Just like grandma's stars - I made this quilt to reproduce a quilt my great-great grandmother made in 1899. Her quilt is in great condition, blue and white, and is registered with the Kansas Historical Society. When I was planning the quilting, I tried to mimick the quilting pattern in her quilt. I am very proud of this quilt, and I hope that my granddaughter(s) some day will cherish this quilt.

Color My World - Our Hands of Friendship Quilt Guild held a Round Robin Challenge in 2003, with approx. 4-5 quilters in each group. I made the center star and then each month a member of my group had to add a border. What a wonderful surprise when they were all revealed!

Circles of Beauty - I made this quilt from a class taught by Mabeth Oxenreider in a quilt retreat hosted by our guild, Hands of Friendship in Feb 2007. It is machine pieced and quilted on my domestic machine. Mabeth was a wonderful instructor and I learned alot from her!

Pepper dish - I saw this pattern at paducah on one of my many trips to this wonderful show, and fell in love with the colors and pattern. I added swarovski crystals on the applique to make it "sparkle"

Sweet Rose of Dixie - Guild BOM sampler done in civil war reproduction fabrics.

Floral Trio Then and Now - A challenge quilt - turn an old, faded, stenciled block into something pretty.

Broderie Perse Symphony - A symphony of appliqued flowers is enhanced by a quilted fern, butterfly, drooping tree branch and textured background quilting.

Following The Way - This quilt combines the mariner's compass with smaller blocks in the corners - Cross and Crown, Morning Star, Cross Within A Cross, and Crosses and Star. Inspiration from John 14:6

Something fishy - I like fish patterns and I did this quilt from my african fabrics. No pattern, I just cut out the fish and it was ready. My friend saw the finished quilt and she told me that the fins on the fish are wrong but who really cares :-)

katies surprise - I made this quilt in one week as a surprise for my daughters birthday. I had asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she of course said a quilt. I need to learn to ask earlier than one week before hand. I made it at my cottage in the summer and do a lot of sewing there on my screened in porch looking out over the lake. Always feel like th luckiest person in the world when I am sewing there.
