I also taught 2 other of my employees to make this quilt and I made a smaller wall quilt for another. So I finally made myself one, but I didn't finish it until 2008! So much for my millenium quilt!

Just like grandma's stars - I made this quilt to reproduce a quilt my great-great grandmother made in 1899. Her quilt is in great condition, blue and white, and is registered with the Kansas Historical Society. When I was planning the quilting, I tried to mimick the quilting pattern in her quilt. I am very proud of this quilt, and I hope that my granddaughter(s) some day will cherish this quilt.

Color My World - Our Hands of Friendship Quilt Guild held a Round Robin Challenge in 2003, with approx. 4-5 quilters in each group. I made the center star and then each month a member of my group had to add a border. What a wonderful surprise when they were all revealed!

Something fishy - I like fish patterns and I did this quilt from my african fabrics. No pattern, I just cut out the fish and it was ready. My friend saw the finished quilt and she told me that the fins on the fish are wrong but who really cares :-)

katies surprise - I made this quilt in one week as a surprise for my daughters birthday. I had asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she of course said a quilt. I need to learn to ask earlier than one week before hand. I made it at my cottage in the summer and do a lot of sewing there on my screened in porch looking out over the lake. Always feel like th luckiest person in the world when I am sewing there.
