Maureen's Memorial Quilt - This was a memorial quilt for my sister-in-law's sister, who passed away from cancer two years ago. She was an avid gardener and scrabble player. So I took some pics of here, and got some scrabble tiles form amazon, and came up with this memorial quilt. The words describe what kind of lady she was. The flower applique is from the quilt pattern Sunshine Rose Garden which was in the Quilters' Newsletter Magazine.
TQS BOM 2008 - This is the 2008 BOM I've ALMOST finished piecing the top.....but I've got other projects that have taken higher priority. So I'm not sure when I'll finish this. Just wanted to show it. I'm very happy with how it came out.
"Christmas Star" - I made this quilt for myself for Christmas in 1993. I also made a table runner to match it. I display both of them each Christmas. I made a second quilt and table runner, which I gave to auction off for the Women of Faith ministry here.
This is one of my favorite quilts.
Arkansas Grandson Fan - Our oldest grandson (13 ) lives in Arkansas and is a Arkansas Razorback fan. His request for the quilt he wanted was an Arkansas Razorback quilt. I told him by the time I finished this quilt I was almost a Razorback Fan!
2008 TQS Block of the Month - Here it is! All hand, needle turned applique. I loved every stitch, and it helped me become quite a fan of needle turn applique.
Great-Grandmother's Double Wedding Ring - My great-grandmother hand-pieced the arcs using feed sacks many years ago but she never completed the quilt. My grandmother had the pieces in a trunk and passed them down to me to finish. I had to draft several templates for all the white pieces but they finally fit and I was happily able to finish the quilt.
My Brave New World - After our Batik Block Swap, I was looking for a pattern that I could use all the delicious fabrics and came across this one in Fons and Porter. I pieced the top several years ago, and set it aside since many of the seams didn't match up perfectly. Another lesson learned. I just had it long armed this year so that we can hang it in our quilt show - Hot Needles Cool Quilts 2009.
Poinsettia - I purchased this pattern several years ago for a flip & sew foundation quilt, but decided I didn't want to do it that way. So I traced the pattern and turned it into a hand applique pattern. I added some beads to the center of each flower for a little bling. Finished in time for Christmas 2008.
Elizabeth Claires Quilt - I made this for my friend Susans grandaughter who was born Apr 12th. She weighed 6ls 6oz. I hope Elizabeth Claire uses it well and carries it around for yrs to come.
