Stars for A New Day
Name of Maker: OCCAT1
Stars for A New Day - This is the first TQS BOM that I have ever done, and the first entirely paper pieced one. What fun it was. I selected my own fabrics in order to have them work with my bedroom decor. Also I had to enlarge it to go on my king sized bed. I didn't like the enlargement suggestions offered for this quilt, so made up my own outer borders. I entered this quilt in the 2010 Village Quilters quilt show and recently showed it in the Little Tennessee River Artist's League art show.

Riaan's Quilt
Name of Maker: lotti deringer
Riaan's Quilt - second of a series of 4 "landscape" baby quilts designed to "grow" with the child the basis for the design is a childhood drawing riaan's mom had done on a postcard she sent me many many years ago this was very freely interpreted according to materials in my stash and the shops while i was searching different materials were used to give the baby interesting textures to feel and explore while still quite small buttons, ribbons and things were used to embellish and add interest for baby and child. crochet flowers can be added / moved (affixed to the button flowers) when the child is a little older. again the blanket can be used as background for wooden and other toy animals, cars & whatnot flowers made of ribbons from riaans' parents' wedding, as well as leather collars with bells (around the sheeps' neck) were added after foto was taken
Nina's Quilt
Name of Maker: lotti deringer
Nina's Quilt - first of a series of 4 "landscape" baby quilts again - the quilt is designed to "grow" with the child the basis for the design is a childhood drawing one of the babies' mom had done this was very freely interpreted according to materials in my stash and the shops while i was searching different materials were used to give the baby interesting textures to feel and explore while still quite small buttons, ribbons and things were used to embellish and add interest for baby and child. crochet flowers can be added / moved (affixed to the button flowers) when the child is a little older. crochet butterflies are fixed - but clouds can be moved (large push-buttons - no velcro as those often damage childrens' clothing) again the blanket can be used as background for wooden and other toy animals, cars & whatnot
Lea's Farmyard
Name of Maker: lotti deringer
Lea's Farmyard - Thought out the project when i was lying in hospital with a broken ankle. The idea is that this playquilt acts as a comfortable blanket for an infant and baby to sleep and play. As the child grows, it should become a playrug with lots of details for different games and to enhance the imagination. The quilt was given together with a collection of wooden farm animals which can also go inside the house and barn as these are multi-layered with different fabrics insdie the rooms and moveable curtains/doors. As you can see, not only Lea, but also her friend enjoy their comfortable playground. Great fun to do - but think it'll remain one of a kind.
