Strung Out

Mom's Quilt - This quilt was to be my very own personal quilt to cuddle under, but it turned out so beautifully that I just could not bring myself to do so. Therefore, I donated it to the Bob Bullock Texas State Museum and the Texas State Historical Commission in 2006, so that others could enjoy looking at it as much as I do.

Double Nine Patch - Made as a practice piece to try my long arm quilting skills on my new long arm machine.

Black and Blue All Over - I made this quilt and then donated it to my son's Marching Band Booster Club for them to raffle off as a fund raiser.

Mystery Stars - Made during a Mystery Quilt Class taught by guild member Cindy Beal who also designed the pattern.

Fruit Basket Medley - Made for the 2003 Hoffman Fabric Challenge. the border fabric was the challenge fabric.

Woodland Wildflowers - Purchased center panel is surrounded by a variety of 4" blocks in colors to coordinate with the center panel. Many crystals were added for sparkle.

Butterfly Stars - Made for Hoffman Fabric Challenge 2004. All stars and binding are made from the challenge fabric. Hand quilted in purple thread with original quilting motifs that I drew on a napkin at a restaurant. Juried into the Hoffman traveling exhibit.

Looking Up - I like paper piecing and this was one of my first quilts that I paper pieced.

Gerry's Train Quilt - This quilt was made by cutting out train pictures from fabric and sewing them into the quilt.

Wild Flowers - This is a combination of embroidery and applique.

Stack'n Whack - This was my first (and only) attempt at stack'n whack. I enjoyed the process and like the results.

Jungle Jive XI - Quilt #11 in the Jungle Jive Series of quilts and tops by Sherry A. Byrd.

Jungle Jive VI - This is #6 in my series of Jungle Jive quilts and quilt tops composed from donated polyester factory remnants.
