Madden
Name of Maker: Wendy Bain
Madden - I loved a certain photograph of my grandson Madden when he was two. I turned it into a quilt portrait and gave it to his parents for Christmas. I am very proud of how it turned out. It is fused fabric, a little paint, a little makeup, crystals for the snow, and a beautiful Bernina satin stitch done over a piece of yarn (red trim on hat). It was a joy to make. I mounted it on a canvas and my daughter in law pulled another piece of art off the wall and hung it immediately upon opening the gift! I think they liked it...
In Loving Memory I and II
Name of Maker: Judy Braten
In Loving Memory I and II - My baby brother Glenn died on 8/8/2011 at the tender age of 56. I made these two quilts for his wife and daughter using his shirts and camo pants. Glenn was an excellent farmer and an avid outdoorsman. He loved to spend time in the Wyoming mountains so I also incorporated large print fabrics of Elk, Deer, Buffalo, Moose in the body of the quilt and I found an awesome fabric which included ALL of the animals we see in northern Wyoming which I used in the borders.
