Frozen - This was a word challenge quilt with my art quilt group, the Van Go-Go Girls. Choose a secret word, 12x12 quilt. The doll is the Snow Queen and I totally encrusted her with beads--she has a pale blue heart. The blue moon is a large crystal button from my MIL's button box she had given me, with seed bead halo. Satin stitch edge. See my blog for details. My word was "Frozen." First in a series--Jack and the Beanstalk is next.

String Theory I - When I saw Heart Strings in The Quilt Life, I dropped everything and dug out my strips. I started with apprx 13-inch strips, then cut the sewn strips in half lengthwise and sewed them together for a longer strip. This quilt made a good canvas for practicing all-over free motion feathers. I still have several pieced strips in more subdued colors for another quilt. I liked Jennifer's idea of quilting first, then adding applique, which I will do on the next string quilt.

Batik Squares - Donation quilt. The inner batik blocks were donated by an unknown member of my quilt guild. The outer blocks were pieced from batik-like fabric donated to the guild. Overall quilt design is a swirl pattern.

Toby - Done from pictures taken of Toby, a teddy bear dog, who is owned by Christine Miller.

A new life awaits - Made for a dear friend who is going through a rough time - the quilt is made from the Sakura Park range of fabric as she loves everything Japanese. My son has written the label in Japanese script which I think she will love.

Lakeside Cottage - The 12 blocks were redesigned from a BOM I was taking. Each block was redrawn as a foundation pattern using EQ7. The layout is original as well as the center medallion. The blocks were originally 12" and I shrunk them to 5"

Traveling on the longest days - I made this quilt for the SewBatik Challenge at the Vermont Quilt Festival 2013. The theme was the Summer Solstice. It has 57 different fabrics, 392 pieces.

Sunshine - This is a portrait of my daughter from a recent trip to Mexico. It took me a long time to complete. She is a beautiful girl and I was afraid I couldn't do her beauty justice!

Some Bunny Loves You - A few years ago my daughter had a little dwarf bunny named Licorice who was a sweet little thing and when she passed I wanted to make a quilt in memory of her.
