Chickens, chickens, chickens - This was made for my favorite Aunt and my best quilter, Faye Turk. She loved chickens and had her kitchen decorated with them. All 96 chickens have embroidered feet and machine appliquéd beaks and prairie points for wings that flap! The green fabric looks like blades of grass and really makes the quilt cute. I inherited this quilt back when she passed away in November of 2005.

Noah Ark's - The double bed size quilt contains 50 differnt animals, all paper pieced. I designed the Ark myself and it was my first attempt to hand applique the waves of water.

USA Quilt 2002 - This started as a free pattern for the flag from HGTV's Simply Quilts, days after 9-11. After completing the flag and laying on my bed, I decided to add to it. 2500 pieces of fabric later I had made my favorite quilt. It features hearts, stars, 4 bald eagles, and the year completed 2002. It is entirely paper pieced. We sleep under this every night.

Charleston Beckonings - The design of this quilt was original with 2 commericial components--the embroidered dragonflies and the egret pattern. Charleston Beckonings was created as a way of expressing my connection to the lowcountry of South Carolina--where I live. It is a way of acknowledging the things that are important and natural in the midst of continuous growth and change.

Oriental Stars - This is the third quilt I've made. It mixes batiks and orientals. I gave it to my mother-in-law, but I wish I had it back...its my favorite!

Rhapsody - After attending Ricky's seminar in Grand Rapids, I rushed home with his wonderful dyed fabric and tried my best to follow his instructions. I'm a piecer normally so the machine applique was a real challenge. This quilt is 33x33 and has more thread in the quilting than any quilt I've ever worked on.

Bright Crooked Path - Vibrant oranges, rusts, and yellows in a zig-zag block design.

Grandma's Sampler - I took a hand piecing class. We were taught 4 blocks, but I just kept going.

Rejoice! - A wall quilt designed for a church wall hanging for the celebration of Christmas. All of the embroidery on the applique is my original design either using Bernina software or free motion embroidery. The angels, dog, rooster, and small town in the distance are commercially purchased embroidery. All free-motion quilting on my domestic machine. Quilt published in "Love of Quilting" Nov/Dec 08.

My first quilt - This was Ash's first quilt. He made it in one day. He would not stop until it was done. I even made him tear out the mistakes.

Wedding Crazy Quilt - I designed and made this crazy quilt for my daughter's wedding. It has many important dates and events embroidered on it. I used fabrics which I saved from events in their lives, such as high school play costumes.

Mutambuki Wedding Quilt - Started with Ohio Star blocks on point and then fudged the rest.

Gabriela's pinwheels - Didn't work from a pattern. I just made a bunch of pinwheel blocks, added the sashing. I hated it until I added the pieced border. Now it's one of my favorites!
