Savannah - I made this quilt for my nephew Jack. It is a commercial jungle print . The green represents the wet season and the yellow, the desserts of Africa.
Citrus Fizz - I made this quilt for my friend Kathy as she loves citrus colours. Constructed in 12 inch quilt as you go blocks with a funky scalloped border for interest.
Wish For Tomorrow to Come - 50 X 35 Wall Hanging, all cotton, myriad of threads, beads, stitches, fibers. Started project during a very emotional time in my life, able to process those with the help of the creative process.
Grand Slice - Grand Slice was inspired by a September 2013 raft trip through the Grand Canyon. Andy Hutchinson is piloting the historic cataract boat the "Sandra" at the bottom of the quilt.
Fall in Love with Books - I'm meeting and collecting autographs from book authors for a fundraising quilt. 64 signatures will be surrounded by squares of fall colors. Here are the first 4 blocks, more to come.
Be a Snowflake in a Blizzard of Charity - Features 27 hand stenciled snowflakes plus trees, deer and the phrase Let it Snow. Unique Un-Raffle, Entries earned by donating to ANY charity. Drawing 12/21/13.
Scrappy stars - This was my second stash busting quilt this year. I kept re-setting it on my design wall until it looked just right. Machine quilted on my Bernina with diagonal lines across the stars and a running feather and cable border.
Planned Sponteneity - This quilt was to be spontaneous, but, after making a few circles, out came my sketch book and colored pencils! A "quick little project" morphed into a for month adventure.
David's Taron - This quilt was part of a collaborative project. I started the quilt with the tarpon and the background fabric. For 5 months it went through a rotation where my four friends had a month each to add details of their choice to the quilt. At the end of the rotation I got the quilt back and added more details, plus the finishing. I now have a quilt to give to my husband (who is an avid fly fisherman for tarpon). The bonus is that four of my best friends have put their personal touch on it!
Snow Days - Embroidered winter scenes surrounded by various blocks of neutral colors. There is a central rectangle of blocks. The outer border consists of blocks. Some of the embroidery bleeds from the embroidered squares onto the pieced blocks.
My Stars - Inspired by Michelle Pearson's "Starry Quillow" pattern, but constructed using Jodi Barrows' "Square in a Square" technique. Coordinated SnS pieced border, with peep border as well.
