Going to College - I made this quilt for my Son when he was going to college. He loved the quilt so much he wouldn't take it with him in case something happened to it. He does come home often to visit his quilt and do laundry.

Dexter's I Spy - I wanted to make an I Spy quilt, but did not want to make the standard hexagon pattern. So I cut the novelty fabrics (multicolored and monotone) into 2.5 inch squares and sorted them into 6 piles - light medium and dark of the multicolored fabrics, and light medium and dark of the monotone fabrics. Then made the Trip Around the World layout and constructed the quilt using 9 patch construction following the specific layout required to get the shading I wanted. There were 12 different 9 patch constructions. When I finished all the 9 patches I realized that I needed a single row down the vertical center and the horizontal center to make the design sparkle. The most difficult part was adding these vertical and horizontal rows as the quilt was in quarters and heavy so it stretched a little. Fortunately, the machine quilter, Eleanor Johnson was able to bail me out and the quilt came out great!!!

Irwin's mountain - I made this of my own hand dyed fabrics for my brother in law on his 70th birthday. He is an artist and appreciated the artistic use of dyes, paints and fabric.

Road to Recovery - Blocks were chosen to represent each month, colors were based on the focus fabric which was a stripe with a coordinating print. sashing and borders then utillized the stripe. The pieces had been cut and I sewed it together while I was recovering from breast cancer surgery.

Boy Scout Memories - My brother had a lot of Boy Scout neckerchiefs beginning from activities in his youth and continuing through his tenure as a regional BS official and various troop leaders. He designed the pattern and I sewed the pieces together combined with "camping" or "scouting" like feature fabrics.

Good Bye Mary Jeanne - I bought several Loralie Harris panels and choose frames to represent people who are dear to Mary Jeanne. Pictures of her and our Mobilehome Park were added. I put it together using coping strips and 2 1/2" squares. People who had their own squares signed the quilt at the going-away party.

"Asian Kaleidoscope" - 1st Place, 2 HMs - This is 1/10 "Wacky Wedge" quilts I have made (each quilt with 103 kaleidoscopes), done with Asian fabrics. It has won 3 ribbons: 1st Place locally, 2 Honorable Mentions (National Quilting Association and one locally). Happy girl!

Bless Our Children - I made this quilt for my friends daughers kindergraden class. It is for their yearly fund raiser and was actioned for $1,300. The hands on the quilt are the actual traced copies of the kids hands.

A Moment of Clarity - Quilt made and donated to fundraiser for Alzheimer's Memory Walk in Glens Falls, NY. Raffle winner lives in Saratoga Springs.

My Valentine - I cut all the pieces as directed in the Super Simple Fat Quarters book by Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith, then I just played, putting them together in different ways, not really in accordance with the patterns. The piece in the center was machine embroidered by my Mother-in-Law. :-)

Alex's Birtday Quilt

Cindy's Butterflies - Made for a friend's wedding and it features machine embroideried butterflies in the star centers. I gave the first one I made to her and had to make a second one. 100% batik fabrics.

My Ma Ma's Garden - This was my third hand applique quilt and I was very happy with the result. I finally perfected tiny invisible stitches and was just so please with the way how it turned out.
