Madam Butterflying - Part of Hoffman Challenge Tour in 1994. In 1995 won Grand Champion at County Fair.
Mini-Pineapple Quilt
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
Mini-Pineapple Quilt - I really liked this pineapple block pattern because of the fabric change in the corners. With this change the quilt looks different from close-up and seems to change at a distance. There seems to be a secondary pattern going on with this small change in the block. This quilt is 15 inches square.
Gino's Angel
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
Gino's Angel - This quilt is made with raw edge applique on top of a fabric collage background with a tule overlay. Inspired by a found photograph of a fairy, fabric was cut free-hand without a pattern. I was lucky to be able to take a class from Laura Fogg to learn this technique.
R and D Treat 42
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
R and D Treat 42 - I designed this quilt on graph paper. For my birthday, my kids gave me a "quilting treat day". They made my breakfast and lunch, cleaned the house, cleaned the dishes, all while I sewed my heart out. It was the best birthday present they could have given me!
Curvature Appeal
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
Curvature Appeal - Started with Ricky's Harmonic Convergence and then cut it into a circle. I just kept adding elements around it as you would a medalion quilt. Winding Way scrappy blocks were added, seminole piecing and Ricky's Caveman Quilting! Super fun quilt to make that develped on its own without a plan.
All Points towards Love
Name of Maker: CharleneNJ
All Points towards Love - A gift for my son, who lives by the ocean.
Coyote Camoflauge
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
Coyote Camoflauge - The center section of this quilt is a fabric collage with a tule overlay. I used a photograph for inspiration and freely cut fabric to form shapes. I like to play with borders and added a larger forest scene to frame the collage.
Black, White, and Red Poppies All Over
Name of Maker: Brenda Ferrario
Black, White, and Red Poppies All Over - Designed this quilt in Electric Quilt based on the large scale floral pattern. It was all about featuring the fabric! I like playing with the borders to extend the quilt top, it seems to add dimension.
Bob the Builder
Name of Maker: Quiltylisa
Bob the Builder - I made this for my first grandson. Pattern was designed by me.
Maddies Quilt
Name of Maker: Quiltylisa
Maddies Quilt - I made this for my niece. It is my own pattern and design.
Koi Pond and Willow
Name of Maker: Linda S Woosley
Koi Pond and Willow - Used silk koi painted by my sister along with hand dyes silks to give the koi fish a home, since she is not a quilter. The fish needed leaf cover so I added the willow branches touching the water surface. I used at least 50 different fabrics to make it, and about that many threads to quilt it. see Quilters Newsletter Magazine April 2007 TOC and page 50.
Colonnata Courtyard
Name of Maker: Joan Jamieson
Colonnata Courtyard - Simple photo transfer that is embellished with fused fabric, raw-edge applique
Newfane, Vermont historic buildings
Name of Maker: Joan Jamieson
Newfane, Vermont historic buildings - Newfane, Vermont is the quintessential New England village with white clapboard buildings around a village green and a country store that sells lots and lots of quilts! In addition to doing this group quilt, I developed patterns for each building and also made inidividual quilts of each one at the request of Newfane Country Store owner Marilyn Distelberg. She's an avid quilter herself - you should visit the store!
