The Magic of Color - Pattern digitized by Virginia Key and Bonnie Rosenbaum for BOM classes at Ann Silva's Bernina. Embroidery machine applique instead of by hand.
Scrappy Flags - Scrappy flag, I used 12 different reds and 14 different cream/tans and did an all over meandering with swirls and stars for the quilting.
Churnin' up Some Buttercups - This is another challenge entry for the Marcus Brothers Aunt Grace fabrics. It is hanging at the Sisters Quilt Show in this picture. ONLY one line of Aunt Grace fabrics could be used and Centennial solids could be added. I love traditional patterns.
Cabin by the Lake - I made this for my bed thus the condition as it is well used. All in flannels and I live where it is cold in Northern Northern California. Problem is it is a queen size and I have a new king size bed so I put it on the bed sideways. My son took this pic with a fish eye lens (he is a navy photographer) It is hanging at the Sisters quilt show in this shot.
Rocky Mountain Puzzle - I made this quilt from a pattern in the book Shape up your Fat Quarters by Debbie Caffrey. I think I love this pattern. The first one I made was a king size and wedding gift for youngest daughter. I loved it so much that I made this one for me. I adapted it for the Marcus Brothers contest quilt also.
Blue Stars - I made the stars in a Lifetime Learning Class. They sat for a while until I took a class called "Plaid Salad" at the guild. We made filler blocks to set with Orphan Blocks.
This quilt is waiting to be a wedding present for a great niece someday.
Star Bright - This is the first quilt I made. I took a beginner's quilting class and they set blocks in front of us and told us to put 2 or 3 blocks together to make a quilt. Thus the class taught us not only the basics in quilting, but also one way to design a quilt.
Mi & Me Friendship Swap - This quilt is made from a block swap with my Best Friend Michelle. The block with the sheep is from a Whimsicals book. I think maybe the angel is based on a Art to Heart design. The rest are our own design or traditional based.
Goose Baby Quilt - This is a baby quilt made to donate to the community for our quilt guild. I was given the fabric and told to make a baby quilt from it. I did not add any extra fabric.
3 d Iris - this is a sample of a pattern from FunDay quilting patterns by Juliet Nowlan. I used my hand dyed fabrics. Juliet wanted me to do the pattern so she could edit the instructions if needed.
Kathy's quilt - A new baby boy is on his way. The paretns are decorating his room in a woodsland theme. This was designed after a big bed quilt at Target. The bears and campground are paper pieced from purchased patterns. The Big Bear Campground is appliqued. Notice the year is even paper pieced.
May the Blue Bird of Happiness Fly up Your Nose - This quilt was made for my quilt groups challenge. We were to fill an appliqued basket with dimensional flowers. I hand dyed the silks, velvet, background and lace myself. The stumpwork birds are my original design.
