Little Houses
Name of Maker: Ellen Lindow
Little Houses - When I saw the Simply Quilts episode on liberated quilts by Gwen Marston, I knew that was for me. I took scraps from my scrap stash and began making little house blocks as a small lap quilt for my daughter. She chose purple hottie flames for the backing and binding and I appliqued hottie hearts between the blocks. Scraps were from skirts and dresses I made for her when she was little, including her first Easter dress and Christmas dress as well as some of my own dresses. Other fabrics include horse and John Deere fabrics for she's a country girl and Green Bay Packers fabric since she and her Daddy are cheeseheads.

Needleworks Universe
Name of Maker: M. Girard
Needleworks Universe - We are fans of an old Brit SF TV show, Space:1999. When we began writing fan fiction based on the hobby of one of the characters we called it the Needleworks Universe. The fanfiction is posted on our website and each story is illustrated with quilt blocks. Meredith chose a number of the blocks and made them into a tiny cross-stitch using hand-dyed threads. One block is the logo for the production company of the show. The cross stitch is on 28 ct cloth, one over one. The stories can be read at http://www.space1999.net/fanfiction/mdg/index.html

Butterflys are every where.
Name of Maker: Agnes Gates
Butterflys are every where. - Many years ago, I was given a box of antique ladies hankerchiefs, I didn't know what to do with them. Then in 1990 I saw this quilt in a magazine. It took me 2 years to complete, b/c I hand quilted it on a frame. I also hand embroidered the heads and antennae of each butterfly. The butterflys were machine appliqued on the blocks. I was a novice, but it turned out great, I love it.
