Dad's Plaids and Plaid Poppies sister quilts - Dad's Plaids is a string quilt made from recycled men's plaid sport shirts and new fabrics. The flowers and leaves in Plaid Poppies were cut from leftover strings from Dad's Plaids. These quilts will be patterned in my new book "Innovations and Renovations: String Quilts" to be released this coming fall by Good Books, Inc.
Triple Trio of Stars - This quilt needed appliqué! But I didn't want to take another 2 years completing the appliqué this quilt deserved, so I stencilled and painted to floral blocks.
Aunt Mimi's Flower Garden - I love flowers and gardening almost as much as I love making quilts. This quilt is entirely machine made: applique, quilting, and piped binding ala Ricky's Grand Finale video.
Revealer of Secrets - Unfinished - I've always had a love for a night sky, the universe and the majesty of the heavens. Joseph's life story is astounding. Many of my quilts are galactic!
Indiana Summer - My interpretation of class pattern, enhanced with paint and fabric markers, given to my daughter in California to remember the Indiana summers.
Turks and Caicos - Made for my daughter Keri in celebration of her honeymoon and marriage to her dream man. Used embroidery designs for thongs from Paw designs.
Stained Glass Stars - My husband bought me the book Paper Pieced Stained Glass Garden Stars by Schwartz & Seifert, and he challenged me to make a quilt from the patterns in it.
Lotus Blossom - This quilt was a gift for my Mother on Mother's Day. I recently purchased a long-arm quilting machine. This is the 1st quilt I quilted on it. For my Mom who taught me to sew when I was 7.
Nine Patch Gone Nuts - I started with irregular nine patches and kept adding elements to make the quilt more interesting. The appliqued squiggles seemed to take on a life of their own.
Jerry and Shari's Wedding Quilt - This quilt isn't quilted yet, but is on the calendar for July. This will be a wedding gift for my brother who is getting married in September. (Finally) They have watched me make many quilts for my nieces. This will be their first quilt. The colors represent their birthstones. What a beautiful combination!
Kate's Bowties - This quilt was made by my 10 year old daughter when she was 8. She loves purple. She had a little help from Mom as she is too young to use a rotary cutter! This is her 2nd quilt.
