Lone Star Garden - Uses a striped fabric to create the large center star. Applique designs adapted from Pat Campbell's Jacobean Applique designs. The outer border is soft-edge pieced with the Jinny Beyer border stripe fabric. I bought 15 yards of the border stripe over several trips to the store to be sure I had enough.
My Stars Mixed and Matched - This is the quilt I'm currently using to teach beginning quilters. It's been very successful as a first quilt, challenging but rewarding, and my students have been very pleased with the class and their quilts.
Old Stars, New Day - I loved this pattern from the first time I saw it, Houston 2008. Sue Garman designed this for thequiltshow.com 2009 block of the month. It is a variation of her pattern, Washington Medallion.
Harmonic Convergence of Friendship - Challenge, "It's All About Me", includes three challenge fabrics and one of my hand painted fabrics (light one upper right). Stars (required in or on the quilt) are in stippling.
Log Cabin Bouquet - A store in Grand Rapids, MI had a contest to use these fabrics. I chose this pattern and won a gift and a ribbon. (Honestly, i can't remember the gift and i have moved and can't find the ribbon) The center is completely button hole stitched. I enjoyed making this pattern...i love to button hole stitch.
Pinwheels for Bridger - The background fabrics are white on white, and the birght blues, yellows, and greens are perfect for a little boy's first quilt.
Framed Flower Garden - I took this class Indianapolis at Quilts Plus but i don't remember the date. I used a piece of my grandmothers fabric (vintage) that surrounds the flowers. The dotted fabric has the illusion of ribbon. I used 4 large seed beads for the center along with strings of yellow embroidery floss to give the flowers a "real" look.
Peeping Tom - This was a quilt I did for a guild challenge. We were to do a minature quilt using White and Black and one other color, I chose Yellow. The border of this quilt is yellow with little eyes on it and the block is Log Cabin with the light in the window, hence the name of the quilt -- Peeping Tom.
Amys' and Johns Tulips - When my granddaughter and her husband started building there new home I started there quilt it was finished the same week as the house .
Special Memories - I saw this arrangements on a old state agency phone book. Want to do a special quilt for a great friend and used the arrangement of fans.
