LaMoyne Star
Name of Maker: Carol Peter
LaMoyne Star - I wanted to see if I could make a LaMoyne Star. I use the Marti Michelle templates and after making one, I made another and another. Well you see the result. The quilt is a little larger than queen.
Beach Day
Name of Maker: Chaundra Gomer
Beach Day - One of the best days in my life was with my niece at the beach, so to commemorate the day I made this quilt for her that Christmas.
Eureka 2!
Name of Maker: Mary Anne Strauss
Eureka 2! - I made this quilt for my grandson, Andy, for his high school graduation present. His favorite color is green! I had a lot of fun making this quilt and also pieced the back--see the next picture. He is going away to college soon and I hope he wraps the quilt around him when he is homesick, so he can feel all the love stitched into this quilt.
An Inward Grace of The Soul
Name of Maker: Chaundra Gomer
An Inward Grace of The Soul - This was a quilt made in a Jan Hirth quilt class. The object of the class was to try and learn 13 different types of applique. I liked this so much when I was done, I had thank you cards made from a photo of the quilt!

Have A Heart
Name of Maker: Chaundra Gomer
Have A Heart - My dad was waiting for a heart transplant when I made this quilt for them to have while they were stuck in a hotel in the middle of Los Angeles. My dad's health was dire and they would not release him unless he received a heart. He got one! He's still doing well here in 2007!

Cats Gone Wild
Name of Maker: LeAnn Harner
Cats Gone Wild - Our local cat club was hosting the national convention for the American Cat Fanciers Association and decided to do a raffle. I offered to make a quilt for one of the prizes. This was displayed around the area and we raised $3,000. The cats are my drawings. It was a challenge to decide the layout and order of construction, since the cats overlay the sashings and border. Each of the cats has several pieces. I used all directional prints - mostly stripes - and cut legs, tails, etc on the bias, so you can see movement. I had hoped to make a commercial pattern of this quilt, but after doing all the alignment markings, deciding which piece went over what, etc., I have a whole new respect for pattern makers! It's a lot of work to design; let alone write instructions that will make sense to others. All of the work was completed on my home sewing machine with lots of fancy threads. The free motion quilting includes swirls, lettering, mice, cheese, cats, etc. - all self-designed to fit the space. Can you find the one block with a brave little mouse strolling amongst all those cats? Wish I'd have had the Photo Guy's suggestions before photographing!
Back Home
Name of Maker: quilter2964
Back Home - I made this quilt for my parents. The name "Back Home" is symbolic to me because of the huge amount of support and love my parents showed me after I moved back home from out of state following a divorce with my two dogs, all my furniture and stuff....no job, very down--I could not have picked myself up and dusted myself off without their support and love.
