No Name baby quilt
Name of Maker: Pam Solka
No Name baby quilt - This is a baby quilt I just thought was cute and will use it as a present for some baby someday. Yes, I saw after I took the picture that I put in a couple of the yellow triangles in the wrong place. Will fix it soon -- just wanted to post it in time for the contest. :v)

Windmills of My Mind

Moving Beyond
Name of Maker: Sue Kopp
Moving Beyond - I tested this block during Ila McCallum's design process and really liked the way it turned out. I put double batting in the windows for more depth. The name reflects that I am moving beyond stitch in the ditch and am concentrating on quilting as part of the design.
James Quilt
Name of Maker: Carole M. Howard
James Quilt - Bright primary colors with machine embroidered Peanuts Characters
Nate's Quilt
Name of Maker: Nancy Parker
Nate's Quilt - Baby Nate's room was done in these colors with airplanes the theme. I didn't want to compete with the nursery decor so used this traditional pattern.
Morning Has Broken
Name of Maker: Sue Kopp
Morning Has Broken - This quilt is named after the Cat Stevens song. This is the only quilt I have in a public space, it is hanging in a library.
Mia's Quilt
Name of Maker: Carole M. Howard
Mia's Quilt - Strawberry Shortcake theme fabric with Machine embroidery.
Duckie in the Rain
Name of Maker: Debi Neuman
Duckie in the Rain - I loved the Duck block pattern when I saw it. So I made that block. Then I built a quilt around it. I used the duck outlines to quilt it. I love this quilt, the duck and the colors. I will sell it sometime down the road. For now I just like looking at it. I has off white fleece on the back.
Pulse
Name of Maker: Sue Kopp
Pulse - Sunrise and sunset with the night in between, the pulse of a day. Pulse is also my favorite Pink Floyd album and I feel a musical pulse from this quilt.
Puppies in the Corner
Name of Maker: Michelle Telenko
Puppies in the Corner - Made for my niece's first son. He loves puppies so I left the puppy fabric as a large piece on the back.
We'll Miss You
Name of Maker: Michelle Telenko
We'll Miss You - One of our engineers at work was leaving after 5 years to return home to Japan. I remembered this folded square that I did as a "make and take" several years ago at the Sew Expo. The squares are very easy to complete. The hard part was figuring out how to connect them. After a ton of brain storming with quilting friends, I came up with the idea of using beads as connectors.

Princess Cassandra - Purchased Princess theme fabric, Embroidered designs using Bernina 180E

For Chris
Name of Maker: Michelle Telenko
For Chris - A Christmas gift for my sister-in-law who collects cups and saucers. I found out I really like paper piecing.
A Bed of Tulips
Name of Maker: Debbie Cameron
A Bed of Tulips - After being laid up from a major back surgery, I was able to do nothing but walk very short distances and enjoy all the television I wanted. Well, I'm not much for the tv but I stopped short when I saw my first quilt program ever, Quilt in a Day, by Eleanor Burns. I was hooked!!! Well, it certainly took me more than one day, but forever changed my life. This is my first and favorite quilt, and turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself!
Skyline
Name of Maker: Michelle Telenko
Skyline - This was my first attempt at bargello. The Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild offered it in a class at their 2005 Quilt University. It took very little fabric and was great fun to do. The technique is much easier than I ever imagined it would be.
