Matt's Quillow - Matt has lived in three states, so I used State Blocks from Barbara Brackman's Book and selected several from each of Florida, Arizona and Connecticut. This quilt folds up into the pillow, hence quillow.
Autumn Comes Round - Autumn Comes Round is machine pieced, machine appliqued and machine quilted. The border is free motion quilted to suggest swirling wind blown leaves and the lines are emphasized with sashiko stitching.
2007 Christmas Quilt - Center of quilt is a small panel with printed borders and pieced stars in the corners. Fabric is from the Santa's Got the Goods collection by Diane Knott for Clothworks. Pattern is available on Clothworks' website.
Katie's ABC's - Alternating blocks are cut from an ABC panel set together with pieced hourglass blocks. Quilt was made for my granddaughter, Katie - when quilted it will go live with her in Lexington, KY.
My Sister's Back Yard - Landscape quilt made from picture of Matanuska Glacier in Alaska taken from my sister's back porch. It's hanging in her cabin now, where you can see both the quilt and the glacier at the same time.
Hearts2 (Squared) - had fun coming up with this design using blocks made in a guild workshop. Love the black and white with the touch of red - thus the "hearts squared"
Confetti - This quilt was made for my best friends 25th Wedding Anniversary. It took over 90 hours of hand quilting. It truley was a labour of love. My friend cryed when I presented it to her.
Holly Hobby - Centre block is an appliqued Holly Hobby with hand embroidered flowers and hair. Surrounding the centre block are three patches in shades of green. My mom made this quilt for me. I remember helping her hand quilt it and then having it on my bed as a child and feeling super special because she had made it for me.
Red Delight - I made this Memory Quilt for my Strp Daughter. It is of my husbands grandchildren. I plan to make one every 5 years as they grow. The sashing if from her grandmother's stash. After making this one I realize how important a border is, it looks naked without one!
Memories - I made this Memory Quilt for my daughter's High School Graduation. It is a chronicle of her high school, with a couple of "early years" added in. It was a total surprise for her. I chose to alternate the Memory Blocks with the Friendship Blocks because it is of she and her friends.
