A Get-Well Bouquet
Name of Maker: Nancy Metzger
A Get-Well Bouquet - I was recovering from surgery and didn't feel much like quilting. I knew I was on the road to recovery when I got the urge to make this quilt! My DH took one look at it and asked me what I had been smoking!

Fall Flannel Lap Quilt
Name of Maker: Sherry
Fall Flannel Lap Quilt
Sherry's Kaffe Fassett Quilt
Name of Maker: Sherry
Sherry's Kaffe Fassett Quilt - I fell in love with Kaffe Fassett fabric after Liza Prior Lucy spoke at our Quilt Guild. I collected fabric for about a year, even purchasing some at Liberty of London. The quilt is machine quilted in a simple loose meandering, so as not to compete with the fabric.
Silk Star
Name of Maker: SuperNova
Silk Star - The red stars and border is dupioni silk. This quilt is special as it does not hang so nicely. Wondering what the difference could be and all I have come up with is the silk. Oh well, it's still pretty!
Stars and Strips
Name of Maker: Joyce
Stars and Strips - A friend of mine who works at Country Quiltworks asked me to make this quilt as a sample for the store. She knows I like 30's fabrics and I was happy to do it til I found out it had to be done in 4 weeks! But I did it! It was ready for the class (of course, I delivered it just a few hours before the class!)
Lori's Quilt
Name of Maker: Joyce
Lori's Quilt - Quilt was made by taking the 2005 Practically Free Quilt classes by Ruth Stonesifer, using sampler blocks she designed from EQ5. I used most of her blocks, but she encourages creativity so I redesigned some of the blocks on my EQ5. The border fabric was fun to work with and I learned how to match the corners and middle by watching a Simply Quilts program several years ago.
Log Cabin Heart
Name of Maker: Joyce (Mom)
Log Cabin Heart - Started this quilt on a very snowy President's Day weekend February, 2003 thinking I was making a wall hanging for my son and his fiance. This was my first quilt pattern I made and was shocked when I started making it and "then" I checked the size and found out I was making a king sized quilt. Mary Tarrant, Warminster, PA machine embroidered their names and wedding date in the center of the quilt.
Out of My Comfort Zone
Name of Maker: Joyce
Out of My Comfort Zone - This quilt was made by attending Byrne's Sewing $5 Sampler Quilt classes--teacher Ruth Stonesifer--in 2005. The actual piecing of the quilt top was my design.
The Country Bride Quilt
Name of Maker: Dianne McCallum
The Country Bride Quilt - This is my first attempt at applique. The quilt is hand applique and hand quilting and resides on our bed. Hopefully one day, one of my daughters will take possession of it. It took 5 years to hand quilt whilst making other smaller quilts at the same time.
Nativity
Name of Maker: pdrquilt
Nativity - This is paper pieced with many very tiny pieces! Paper piecing has become my favorite way of quilting along with appliqueing.
Bandit
Name of Maker: Sue Cubberley
Bandit - I saw a similar one in a shop and new I had to make one of my dog, Bandit. I modified the Beagle pattern, and Bandit is a mixed breed. It is amazing how the batiks make it look so real. This is my second completed quilt.
Riot of Color - Raffle Quilt
Name of Maker: West Suburban Quilt Guild
Riot of Color - Raffle Quilt - The quilt takes its roots from Amish quilts. There are 143 brightly colored star blocks surrounded by a 1 inch half square triangle border with an original whimsical appliqued border completing the top.
Fishing with Nikki
Name of Maker: Bridget473
Fishing with Nikki - When I saw this quilt I knew I had to make it for my dad's birthday. I changed Alex's design to reflect my dad's fishing trips with his dog Nikki who passed away a few years ago and added borders to make it a lap size. The process and additional photos can be seen at http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/560288679xEhxOB
