isaac's star - this is my son's baby quilt. made a little larger than traditon because I wanted him to be able to use it forever. I chose the colors becasue red and black were his favorite colors at the time.
Big Five Pineapple - This is an original art quilt design and machine embroidered by me. As with all my artwork, it is a complete original. I create all my own embroidery designs from scratch (no stock designs for me thank you). I wanted this quilt to have that fruit crate label type feel to it. It's one in a series of 4 I am doing right now.
Shoo Shoo Little Bird - Go and Find my Lover - This is an original embroidered art quilt. The background is pieced hoffman batik cotton fabrics. It's machine embroidered using my own embroidery designs and our Bernina Aurora. It took 11 individual hoopings and 16 threads along with some applique.
HDS Auction Quilt - An Auction wall hanging to raise money for the Bomb Technicians Memorial Fund. Instructors from the Hazardous Devices School at Redstone Arsenal, Al. donated the slight worn T-shirts for this project. I designed and quilted and donated it for the Auction.
Relay for Life - My daughter needed a raffle quilt for her Relay for Life in Ga. I found the ribbons and the angel ribbons on an embroidery site and adapted them as the theme for the quilt. I tried to use as many color "cancer awarness" ribbons as I could find. The theme relay color was purple so that's why I used that color as the main color. My grandson is 12 and he is also a cancer survivor, so the gold angel with wings was in his honor. I used my embroidery machine for the angels & ribbons and everything else was pieced then quilted
Water Wonder - Water Lily Pattern. Size: 88" x 100". 100% Cotton. Machine pieced and quilted. Water Lily comprised of all Half-square triangles sewn together to make a 12" square. Framed by a 5" border.
Across Canada - Size: 70" x 82". 100% Cotton.Consists of White 12" blocks with the Canadain Provincial Floral Emblem in each Block. Framed and bordered by green to enhance the floral design. Hand Embroidered and Hand Quilted.
Fantasy - It was time to make another quilt. With no real plan, I went through my stach and found a color combination that I thought would make a nice quilt. I designed my own pattern and start to cut and piece. This is the end result. Finished quilt is 79" x 86" ,100% cotton , machine peiced and Hand Quilted.
Unnamed - Alternating Dolphins, Turtles and Crabs on a king size bed quilt. Used shades of teal, turquoise, and purple for this bedroom overlooking the sound at the beach. Inspiration came from all the turtles that live in the pond near our townhouse!
Zwarte Piet (Black Pieter) - I've designed this quilt for a family holyday in the Netherlands thats cauld Sint Nicolaas or in english Saint Nicolaas whe celebrate this feastday on the evening before his birthday for the adaults with something cauld suprisse. You will get a present wrapped up like somting special for you and there is a poem you must read aloud with advice. The childeren leave the shoe with stove or fireplace and when the wake up the next day there will be presents for them brougt by Sint Nicolaas and Zwarte Piet Thats the reason zwarte piet is black because he climbs throwe the chimney
Bob's 70th Birthday Quilt - Used blocks associated with the following states: California, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, Georgia, and Texas. These states are the birthstates of my husband and me, our children and grandchilgren.
