'Tis the Season - These are some of the designs from my book A Merry Little Christmas to Appliqué. Just put 'em all together and you've got a festive little quilt to hang on the wall during the holidays!
Free Flowers - This was the result of a personal challenge to myself... to use no pattern, and to finish no edges. Without a plan, I scissor-cut all the shapes from pre-fused fabrics, fused them down, and machine quilted close to the edges of all the motifs to secure them. It was very freeing to work this way!
A Spin in the Garden - This is my "A Spin in the Garden" pattern. (The bunnies are very well behaved and will only bring the cuteness factor to your garden.) This quilt is machine appliquéd using fusible web and a small blanket stitch.
Uncle's Colors - Four hundred pieces of various colors of blues, browns, creams and yellows on a light beige background make up this Native American Star Quilt which I stippled and gave to my Aunt for a Give-Away.
Sweetpea Dreams - My friend Liz loves Sweetpeas and traditional quilts, I substituted a sweetpea floral for the usual plain fabric. I was lucky enough to have it published in British P+Q magazine.
Tudor meets Mosaic - Block design inspired by a portrait of Elizabeth Tudor before she became Queen of England.
Hand dyed fabrics in bonded blocks. The block reminded me of mosaics, hence the title.
Dresin Plate - Our Craft - Quilting Teacher at our Patchwork Club was looking for some of the quilter's to give
free time to make some Lyness quilts So I made this Lap Quilt in the Dresin Plate Pattern
Laura had over 150 Lyness quilts donated in 2007 These are given to Adult's and Children in care and long stay patients in hospital.
Sashiko quilt - I made this simple Sashiko pattern set on Navy cotton and a bright Laurel Burch Horses fabric
for my sister Anne with a pillow and a small cushion to match for her new home.
180 squares 4-1/2" stiched in horizontal rows using the flag method, press seams in opposite direction stich the strips together and white sashiko thread using a running stich on a few of the Navy squares. I loved doing this quilt.
Postcard Wallhanging - This was my first quilt, I purchased the Kit from Kwik Quilts in New Zealand
The centre is photo fabric which I printed two pictures I had taken on my holiday to
Auckland to visit my Sister and brother then added some buttons the border in wonderful
New Zealand stamp Fabric.
Amys Quilt - Most of the fabric for this quilt was hand dyed. The celtic designs were drawn onto the fabric then machine stitched. The quilt was constructed in strip sections and worked in the quilt as you go method.
Hiku - Stitched sashiko panels blue with white stitching, appliqued kimonas, fan, tea pot, box, girl with umbarella using Japanese fabric.
Embellished with gold threads, cord and tassels hanging from 2 bamboo poles
