Alaska on my Mind
Name of Maker: same
Alaska on my Mind - My husband and I took a cruise to Alaska in 2002 for our 30th anniversary. Of course, I found quilt shops in almost each town and at Skagway there were 2 shops! He bought me a wonderful amount of hand dyed fabrics along with the pattern for this quilt. It is a wonderful memory of our cruise. It was a lot of fun.

New York Beauty - I had purchased this pattern a few years ago and during the blizzard of 2006 I was bored and started looking through patterns and decided to make this using my scraps. Lots of Love to Laura
Name of Maker: Sharon Engel
Lots of Love to Laura - I made this quilt for my daughter who was leaving to attend USF in Tampa, FL, 2000 miles away from home. I wanted her to remember how many people loved her when she got homesick, which ended up being often. I machine sewed the family names in the heart and friends names throughout the body of the quilt. she loves it.
Snuggle Ducky
Name of Maker: Lara
Snuggle Ducky - This was made for my goddaughter when she was born. I used three layers of flannel and my chenille cutter to create a 3-D effect on the center panel, then added more rubber duckies in the border print and used yellow dot Minkee for the backing. I used simple straight line machine quilting between the chenille rows and to trace the lines on the border print. This is apparently one of her favorite blankets to lay on.

Then each member worked on each piece adding to the composition with embellishment of some kind. Some were abstract, some more literal like mine. The photo is the end result.
