A Toad Named Brenda - This was the block of the month at Lizzie's quilt pallet in Utah. I added the applique from many sources and things in my head. I named it a toad named Brenda because my friend Brenda doesn't think 'critters' belong on quilts. Once finished Ernie Floyd asked if he could use it for an ad for the Tin Lizzie (which I own and quilted this quilt on). So the quilt is a bit famous.
"Recycle" - Bath Rug made from two "Old" worn, faded Bath Towels.
No Batting needed.
LongArm Quilted, trimmed and bound!
Now Who Couldn't Use Another Bath Rug?
Flying Geese & Stars - Kim Einmo developed a ruler to create the "geese" which also form the star points using strips of the same size and using the "flat top" triangle design to create the triangle and the wings for easy matching and sewing. A great, fun class with the Miami Valley Quilters' Guild (Ohio).
Raggedy Hearts - I made this quilt for my step-daughter for her 21st birthday. She always curled up with a flannel quilt I made for her father whenever she would come to visit, so I thought she would like one of her own.
Hydrangeas in Bloom - This was my initiation into quilting. I finished the top and did the initial quilting in the ditch. My Grandmother, who was in her late 90's at the time, came to live with my Mother and wanted things to quilt to keep her busy. She completed the quilting in the 'windows' of this quilt by hand which made this quilt especially dear to my heart.
Floral Collage - fabric collage of drapery and upholstery fabrics, batted, stitched, and embellished with beads, ribbons, machine embroidery and fringing of upholstery fabric for edge.
Home and Garden - The quilt turned out nice. It's a large quilt custom quilted and did a lot of playing since it was my personal quilt. Gammill Optimum Plus machine.
My Little Antique - I was inspired by Cindy Needham who turned antique linens into beautiful quilts. After watching her on The Quilt Show, I went out and bought this antique linen cutwork applique and decided to make a quilt. The quilting was my own design. I really love how it came out. I used Cindy's scribbling technique to "fill in" areas and make others pop out.
Andy's Graduation Quilt - This is a quilt I made for my son Andy's graduation from Cal State Fullerton. It hangs in his office now, where he is a CPA. His customers really like it! So does Andy! It is made w/batiks.
