kookaburra - Made at a two day workshop with Caroline Sharkey last weekend. She's an inspirational teacher and makes wonderful picture quilts -checkout the Australian outback at www.carolinesharkey.com I'd taken a photograph of a kookaburra and translated it into this wallhanging. I'm thrilled that I made this just from snippets of fabric scraps.

Star Light, Star Bright - Little brothers can't be left out. This lap quilt was made with the leftovers of Follow the Stars Home. Just the right size to snuggle under and watch the stars from his bedroom window. It gave me another chance to practice my machine quilting and boy do I need the practice!

When I am Old - A gift for a family member, the label on this one includes a copy of the poem "Warning" by Jenny Joseph printed on the fabric and appliquéd in the bottom corner. The famous first line, "When I am old I shall wear purple" embodies the philosophy of many of us not so old ladies.
