The Bird Lady
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
The Bird Lady - The bird fabrics were leftovers from sets of scrubs made for my daughters vetrinary assistant job. Some are fussy cut, some are not. This is my first quilt, and my friend Mary Behnke helped me design it, and gave me instructions for the construction of the quilt top.
23rd Psalm
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
23rd Psalm - embroidered words of the 23rd Psalm, surrounded by blocks with lambs embroidered on them. Made for my friend in a nursing home. This is my second quilt, and the first one designed, executed and finished with no help. The fabric for the back, and surrounding the embroidered lambs was donated by my friend, Mary. There are many errors, but my friend, who taught Sunday school for years and called her students her "lambs" (Her last name is Woolley), enjoys it, and can run her fingers over the embroidery and recited the 23rd Psalm, in spite of the fact she is almost blind and her memory is failing badly.
O Holy Night
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
O Holy Night - This is a wall hanging of a nativity scene.
Toot-toot
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
Toot-toot - My friend and I designed this quilt together. We each made one, differing in the fabrics we chose for the train cars, and the applique stitches we used. We appliqued the trains on the cloud fabric, added tracks and gravel, and turned our grandsons loose on it. They run their trains around the tracks, and then snuggle up and nap on them.
Portrait of Jung
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
Portrait of Jung - This is my fifth quilt, and my first attempt at "scribble quilting." The dog pictured really does look like our family clown, Jung. I changed the background considerably. In my quilt it resembles the setting of a log cabin we rented in Colorado.
Safari Reflections
Name of Maker: Lynn Gerhard
Safari Reflections - This is my sixth quilt, and my first attempt at the color block technique. The quilt went together very quickly for me, and my results were very pleasing. The corners matched, and all else went well. It was fun to do .

Bountiful Harvest 2
Name of Maker: Helen Marshall
Bountiful Harvest 2 - I used embroidery techniques, including stumpwork and ribbon work, to make a miniature version of a Baltimore quilt. The blocks are 5" and are surrounded by a hand quilted border. This quilt won the merit prize for Best Use of Embellishments at the recent New Zealand Symposium held in Palmerston North, and was also accepted for the suitcase exhibition which will be travelling around New Zealand for the next year.
Tropical Bouquet
Name of Maker: Helen Marshall
Tropical Bouquet - There are only two fabrics in this quilt, one a marvellous tropical floral and the other a gold spotted black. I fussy cut some of the fabric to get a bouquet like arrangement and freely cut other parts to make the border. The narrow green "piping" is two strands of perle cotton couched in place.
Passion Fruit
