Floral Glass Blocks
Name of Maker: Cher Olsson
Floral Glass Blocks - A friend made a deal with me. Since she was going to be unable to do anymore quilting. She would trade me her stash and in return I make her a quilt for her bed. Last fall when the first installment of fabric arrived It was mostly florals. While I'm thinking, what am I going to do with this? My mom is looking at each one and saying, this is nice, oh this is nice. so I decided I would make mom a lap quilt for Christmas. I made lots of half square triangles and 3-d flying geese and made blocks of all the different floral fabrics. Then deciding it was missing something, it just wasn't me, I added the flowers. I used wool batting for the first time and have decided I love it. And mom loves her quilt.
Aric
Name of Maker: Sheri Lang
Aric - I love making mosaic portrait quilts. I have donated custom quilts to my son's annual auction for his swim team and made this quilt to have as a sample. We cart it to all of our swim meets and it is both used and loved!
Dresses throughout the years
Name of Maker: Sheri Lang
Dresses throughout the years - This dress pattern was a friendship block at my quilt guild. I thought that it would be a perfect pattern to use with my neice's baby clothes. All of the dresses and the banners are clothes that she wore (onesies, t-shirts, dresses, bibs and even her first Santa hat). I have since been hired to make similar quilts and it prompted me to start up my own website www.quiltnmama.com.
Miss Harris' School
Name of Maker: Sheri Lang
Miss Harris' School - This was an adorable quilt that was in Quiltmaker Magazine. I originally found the design while looking at the gallery on The Quilt Show. I thought that it would be perfect for my son's firat grade teacher's end of year quilt, so I contacted the member to get details. The original quilt pattern called for only a couple fish. I have one fish for every child that was in the class and the children picked out their fabric. This was Ms. Harris' first year teaching and boy did she have her hands full with that class. Fortunately, not only has decided to continue with her teaching, but she was also re-hired (which is amazing since our district closed two elementary schools this year).
Invigilation
Name of Maker: Sheri Lang
Invigilation - This is my 2014 entry for the Hoffman Fabric Challenge. Started the quilt in October of last year. It is 100% hand made. The pattern was drawn by hand. The pieces were cut out with scissors. The top was pieces by hand. This is my first hand quilted project. The binding was sewn completely by hand. Boy do I miss my machine!

WonkyWorks13
Name of Maker: Jolet Migdal
WonkyWorks13 - This is also a fairly early wallhanging, and at the time I didn't think that much of it, but it's one of my favorites now. I did alot of experimenting and cutting through. The batiek balls were fused on afterwards and I couldn't stop adding them! Since I have run out of wall space, alot of my wallhangings are in a drawer, but this one is always out.
Summertime
Name of Maker: self
Summertime - Background, red, yellow, and green fabrics were string-pieced and appliques and diamonds were cut from the resulting fabric. I had so much fun playing on the design wall to place the appliques where I wanted them. This quilt will be patterned in an upcoming book later next year and is a copyrighted design.
Hippy Bus wall hanging
Name of Maker: Connie Schwartz
Hippy Bus wall hanging - This wallhanging was created for a contest. We were challenged to use only the fabric that had been previously selected plus one of our own. I used to never work with warm colors. After making several sketches on what I should do with the fabric - the fabric that had symbols on it became my inspiration for my Hippy Bus. Although I did not win the contest - I was very proud of my submission.
Glacier Park
Name of Maker: Connie Schwartz
Glacier Park - I created this landscape from a picture I took when I was at Glacier Park in Montana in 2004. I went to the NDISQS for a class to do the mini landscape wallhanging. I tried to make the fabric match what the actual photo looked like and used freemotion and machine embroidery to give the picture texture. It used be in a frame, but I took it out of the frame to enter it in the 2009 Capital Quilters Quiltfest. It won 3rd place in the art division.
Lime sorbet block challenge
Name of Maker: Assembled by Connie Schwartz
Lime sorbet block challenge - This is a block. The challenge was to use lime green as one of the colors. I found a picture of abstract art and it became my inspiration. I cut out a variety of shapes, used wonderunder and steam a seam to iron on my pieces. I then zigzagged or used my machine stitches around the pieces. I love this abstract and I need to frame it.
Jacob's Quilt

Jacob's Quilt - I made this quilt for a friend's first grandchild. Embroidary patterns were purchased.
My First Quilt

Tzivai Ha-brit (Colors of the Covenant)
Name of Maker: Self
Tzivai Ha-brit (Colors of the Covenant) - I did this with a collection of hand-dyes and batiks, based on Ricky Tims' Flying Colors, one seam Flying Geese. This is just the top, not yet quilted. The name is in Hebrew, translated means Colors of the Covenant.
Linda's Garden
