Donia's Rooster - Donia, my daughter's mother-in-law, loves roosters. This Embroidery Library rooster, all 111,000 stitches of him, made a magnificent little wallhanging for Donia's home. Presented for Christmas, 2006.
Kimono 2
Name of Maker: Beverley Hilton
Kimono 2 - Four-D kimono is placed on a textured and dimensional lattice background. The stitching around the background made it puff out, so the kimono really stands out. Karen Contreraz of Fort Lauderdale, FL, taught the lattice work technique at Azar's in Davie, FL.

OBAMA 2008 - 2007/2008 Guild Challenge required recycled textile materials. Vintage decorator silk and silk blend fabric samples, including the small attached optional colorway swatches. Vintage cotton chintz backing. Each corner star is a different color.

Angie's Apple Quilt - A tradition in our family is for the kids to get an "Apple Quilt" of some kind. I've made several, but this one is my favorite. The first 'Apple Quilt' which was owned by my grandmother is now faded and ragged after 50 years of love!

Rainforest Windows - Second Graders drew pictures of Rainforest animals on fabric using oil pastels. Blocks were set in attic windows pattern. Machine quilted on HQ 16.
Sixth Grade Stars

Sixth Grade Stars - The sixth graders used construction paper to make patterns for these blocks. They could draw their own stars or use traditional star blocks. The photos were transfered by ink jet printer and appliqued to each block. Machine quilted using HQ 16.

January and February Block of the Months - Here are my first attempt to do the block of the month project. I used needle turned appliqué and started this in the middle of June. I hope to catch up with the blocks by August since I'm not working this summer. What fun, but what a lot of work!

I really enjoy seeing how others have done these same blocks and particularly enjoy seeing their helpful hints and encouragement. What fun!

Block of the Month for May - Here is my Block of the month for May. It's all needle turned appliqué and finally finished. I hope that I finish the June and July blocks, but I have to wait until I'm back from Quilt camp at Camp Watch a Patcher and my family vacation the following two weeks. My fingers need the break from hand appliquéing, but I'll be ready to get the next blocks finished as soon as I'm back. What fun!
