Deloris's Comfort Quilt - This quilt was given to Deloris Jobe as a community comfort quilt from Westcliffe Contempary Quilters and Fabric Artists. I designed and constructed the quilt and her daughter quilted. Our club makes quilts for the people of Custer County that have had major illnesses accidents or death in their families. Deloris's son has cancer. She is a member of the WCQFA club.

Akemi - I saw a 'Kimono Doll' quilt and then drew my own foundation pieced block. I later found the original published in an old issue of Quiltmaker magazine. Mine is similar, but different in size and proportion. I redrew the block in EQ6 for this quilt.

Stellar Nursery - This quilt is inspired by a NASA photo called Mountains of Creation, which lies at the eastern edge of the giant stellar nursery W5, about 7000 light years from the constellation Cassiopeia. I blogged the making of this quilt in TQS Member Blogs under "The Great Gas Cloud Adventure" series of 7 blogs, if you want to read them. Accepted into the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival 2010 exhibit/contest.

Sacred oceans - I made this quilt for Fr Ron who is celebrating 40 years in the priesthood this weekend. He has been with our parish for over 20 years. I used 5" charm squares cut down to 4.5" and added 1.5" borders in blue/grey, tan and brown. The label has a photo of Ron when he was at school and the prayer of St Francis of Assisi. His favourite prayer and song.

Patriotic Exploding Star - This quilt was truly a labor of love and focus. It required focus on one block at a time. My goal was to make one block per day. With each block requiring 49 half square triangles all made to make a total pattern it really made me more focused not to make a mistake or turn one wrong.

Rag Dolls - I used a Raggedy Ann coloring book to make applique blocks. The material for the doll clothes was the same as for the real matching dolls I also made. The quilt and dolls were a present for my granddaughter's first birthday!
