Justin's First Year
Name of Maker: Patricia Gutterman
Justin's First Year - This picture quilt was my first attempt using photographs. I used my embroidery machine to quilt this piece using butterfly outlines. The border fabric is royal blue with tiny lime green dots so I accented with lime green batik fabric.
Binary
Name of Maker: Jerri Stroud
Binary - Fractals often have two "centers" plus they're based on computer images, which ultimately derive from a binary number system. This image is put together from hand-dyed fabrics and is quilted with variegated rayon thread.
Spiral Bound
Name of Maker: Jerri Stroud
Spiral Bound - This quilt also is based on fractals, with the spiral primarily in yellows and oranges. It is quilted with silk using wool batting.
Supernova
Name of Maker: Jerri Stroud
Supernova - This is smaller than some of the other fractals I've done. The quilting is more organic, using leaf shapes and flower shapes because I thought it suggested a tree in a Japanese garden. The quilting is with variegated rayon thread.
Lisa's Bento Box
Name of Maker: Geneva Carroll
Lisa's Bento Box - I made this quilt for my daughter Lisa (Sazzy Puff) for her birthday in April. Lisa was born in Korea and I thought she would like these fabrics. Lisa likes black and red. With the scraps I made her a small 21" x 21" log cabin. This quilt is 52" x 67".
Kate's Graduation Quilt
Name of Maker: Geneva Carroll
Kate's Graduation Quilt - I made this quilt for my daughter Kate's graduation from college. She picked out the pattern and I used some of the batiks from my collection (!). I added beads and specialty threads. The middle of the sunflowers are couched w/2 different yarns and beading added.
Wrapt Up in the Orient
Name of Maker: Dianna
Wrapt Up in the Orient - I love oriental fabric as does my daughter and Sandy's pattern was perfect to adapt plus my own 9 patch swap blocks and borders.
Dizzy Swirls
Name of Maker: Barbara Sanders
Dizzy Swirls - This is a variation on Stack - n - Whack using an equilateral triangle as a base. I drew a random curved line from the center to one side, copied the line to the other two sides. Each triangle has a light, medium and dark shape. Six triangles form a swirl at the center. It was great fun! These were all oriental fabrics. I want to do more with this technique.
Dee Dee's Baskets
Name of Maker: Dee Small
Dee Dee's Baskets - Appliqued Baskets and flowers using darks and lights with my Homespun scrapes.
Autumn Buzz
Name of Maker: Dee Small and Wina Helm
Autumn Buzz - This was a guild quilt challenge. We had to use a two pieces of fabric and the paper pieced maple leaf that are in all 4 corners. My mom and I designed and made the quilt together.
Cowgirls of the old west
Name of Maker: Dee Small
Cowgirls of the old west - I had these cowgirl blocks for quite a while and decided to make a quilt center piecing the cowgils. A lot of the fabrics are western themed that I had been saving up for a while.
Lailah's Delight
Name of Maker: NancyinSTL
Lailah's Delight - I made this quilt top in 2006 for my first granddaughter-to-be, but learned two weeks prior to his birth that it was a grandSON. So, I decided to finish this quilt for my niece, Lailah, born in January 2007.

Pride - dye painted & stitched picture of my son Michael. Technique learned from Hollis chatelian
Primarily around the twist
Name of Maker: Dee Small
Primarily around the twist - This was a class given to our guild by Sandy Turner. I was crazy and used 6 different colors for my twist while the class used two, but I had a lot of fun with it. I designed the border so it would be different from the rest.
Tinker Toys
Name of Maker: Candy
Tinker Toys - While making various blocks from the Isometrics book I came up with Tinkertoys
1st Round Robin
Name of Maker: Dee Small, Wina, Sandy, Carol and Coline
1st Round Robin - This is our guilds first Round Robin. I had a lot of fun with this RR, I'm a Longarm Quilter and don't find a lot time for piecing but with this RR I knew I had to come up with a plan and follow through with getting it done for the following month, so that let me do some piecing. I loved the challenge that each quilt gave me and the knowledge that each quilt would have a little part of me in it.
Sudoku Challenge
Name of Maker: Cheryl Bishop-Bailey
Sudoku Challenge - I made this in response to the Bath Quilters Sudoku Quilt Challenge. The design was inspired by the Sudoku grid in The Times. In keeping with the oriental look of the design the borders are quilted with a bamboo pattern. All of the Sudoku squares are made from recycled mens' shirt fabrics. I meant to give it to Project Linus but my husband wanted it so he gave Project Linus a donation in its place and kept the quilt for himself.
Tim's Tiger
Name of Maker: Sandi
Tim's Tiger - The cross stitch tiger was a gift for my husband. I decided to frame it with fabric and turned it into a pillow.
Garden of Wonder
Name of Maker: Julie Brodersen
Garden of Wonder - My OBW - my DH came up with this layout after months of being stuck on my design wall. I knew immediately it was the one!
