Mariners Compass - I made this Mariner's Compass because my boyfriend served in the US Navy and we both love the sea. It is hand pieced and hand quilted
Spanish Grandmother Fan - I don't have a Spanish Grandmother, but when completed it took on what I thought of as a Spanish feel. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. I added black lace around each fan and fussy cut the handles of the fan from the border fabric.
An Angel for Angela - I made this art quilt for my son's girlfriend, Angela. The picture is based on a drawing by 19th century artist Aubrey Beardsley. I thread painted the angel and embellished the quilt with flat-back jewels.
Kozy Kitties - This was my first quilting project. I like embellishments on quilts, so, I added embroidery bird, mouse and ladybug, jeweled eyes and whiskers. I am hooked.
Fraser Valley Quilters' Guild Banner - Our Guild Banner was made in 1986. Since this is the 30th Birthday of the guild. My friend, Val and I made a new banner. Several members helped us by making the small quilts to show a more traditional time. We presented the guild their birthday present at the May meeting.
Brock's Quilt - This quilt was made for my great nephew in commemoration of his birthday. It is a variation from a workshop I took with quilter Caroline Price on woven diamonds and using hand dyed fabrics. I used novelty prints spelling out BROCK across the centre diamonds.
Fall Birches - This quilt was created in a landscape course given by Jenny Taylor of this area. We were taught the proceedure but the design colour and composition were totally our own.
Cat and Mouse - The center of this quilt is adapted from the wall hanging Cat Nip. I used leftover fabric from previous quilts to add borders . I also added the mouse
Queen of the Sea - Ricky Tims Convergence background. Fish made from a variety of flowered fabrics and machine appliqued. This is still a work in progress and will have shells, miniature star fish and sand dollars added.
The Rice Planter - I bought a graduated piece of fabric and thought it would be great for the image I have had in my mind for a couple of years. It is still a work in progress and will take some time to finish
Ebony & Ivory - This quilt was designed for a color class based on the pattern "Fractions". It will be given to my niece for her graduation from Stanford with MD degree in June. It is the first quilt given to her after loss of her family's home to fire in San Diego in October of 2007.
Jenna's Fairies - GD wanted it as a bed spread so I gave it a 20 inch drop. It matches all the wild hot pink, and chocolate, and teal colors in her room. There are plenty more colors in this quilt for her to change her mind about wall colors over and over again
