Star Light, Star Bright - Little brothers can't be left out. This lap quilt was made with the leftovers of Follow the Stars Home. Just the right size to snuggle under and watch the stars from his bedroom window. It gave me another chance to practice my machine quilting and boy do I need the practice!
North To Alaska - For several years, I had the opportunity to work summers in Fairbanks. I collected fabrics each summer mostly panels and fat quarters that would tuck neatly into my suitcase. This quilt was made with a panel purchased in Alaska.
kookaburra - Made at a two day workshop with Caroline Sharkey last weekend. She's an inspirational teacher and makes wonderful picture quilts -checkout the Australian outback at www.carolinesharkey.com
I'd taken a photograph of a kookaburra and translated it into this wallhanging. I'm thrilled that I made this just from snippets of fabric scraps.
Hearts and Hands - Created at St. George Island, FL using applique of family member hands. Each person chose his/her fabric to reflect each personality. Mother and Daddy's hands are in the center surrounded by their children and spouses.
Oh Christmas Tree - Uses many techniques. Started during hurricane season when without electricity. Gifts under the tree are all made by hand. Machine Embroidery. Applique. machine and hand piecing. Given to Mother and Daddy.
