Elegant Sunbonnet Sue
Name of Maker: Signe Hansen
Elegant Sunbonnet Sue - This is a quilt my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. The Sue's are all hand stitched in a blanket stitch. I don't know if my grandmother every made other quilt. This is the only one I know of. She was more of a needlworker and knitter. I need to do some repair work to this quilt to get it back into good condition.

One Hundred Years of Marriage

Name of Maker: melanezoe
Iris in spring - A paper pieced design of iris using traditional, commercial print fabrics.
Halloween Country
Name of Maker: melanezoe
Halloween Country - This was a serial published in Australian Patchwork magazined and chosen as the "row quilt" of the year by Nacogdoches Quilt Guild. I chose not to do the illustrated country-charm colors, instead opting to use up my huge stash of Halloween fabrics (and thereby necessitating some changes in design, too.) This took a whole year of fun and angst, but was well worth the effort. It was also my first applique effort, as shown in the center-block closeup.
Amanda's Boondoggle
Name of Maker: melanezoe
Amanda's Boondoggle - This bright orange and pink quilt is a birthday surprise for a Girl Scout who needed something lightweight and durable to take to overnights.
Bitty Baskets & Hexagons Wall Hanging
Name of Maker: Quiltpati
Bitty Baskets & Hexagons Wall Hanging - I finished this quilt March 26, 2008 and self-published the pattern for my guild's 30th Anniversary's quilt show that began March 28th. It got a lot of great reviews from all of the quilters in attendance.
Aricka's Keepsake
Name of Maker: Melane McCuller
Aricka's Keepsake - In 1999 I downloaded the pattern (and I'm happy to see it back in the Keepsake Quilting catalog this year as a kit) to make a little quilt for my (then) four-year-old granddaughter. She wanted to learn to sew, so I helped her trace out the pattern for the watering can and start her on blanket stitch. It didn't take her long to decide the sewing machine was more her cup of tea (as it is mine). She finished the block on the machine. I used it in the quilt, but expanded and added some alterations of my own to make the quilt larger. It was finally finished this year, entered in the local show, and took Best of Show. I was shocked, Aricka was thrilled.
