Snuggle Ducky
Name of Maker: Lara
Snuggle Ducky - This was made for my goddaughter when she was born. I used three layers of flannel and my chenille cutter to create a 3-D effect on the center panel, then added more rubber duckies in the border print and used yellow dot Minkee for the backing. I used simple straight line machine quilting between the chenille rows and to trace the lines on the border print. This is apparently one of her favorite blankets to lay on.
Lots of Love to Laura
Name of Maker: Sharon Engel
Lots of Love to Laura - I made this quilt for my daughter who was leaving to attend USF in Tampa, FL, 2000 miles away from home. I wanted her to remember how many people loved her when she got homesick, which ended up being often. I machine sewed the family names in the heart and friends names throughout the body of the quilt. she loves it.
New York Beauty
Name of Maker: Sharon Engel
New York Beauty - I had purchased this pattern a few years ago and during the blizzard of 2006 I was bored and started looking through patterns and decided to make this using my scraps. I have always enjoyed paper piecing and this was no exception. I had a lot of fun making this quilt. I have two requests to put in my will to friends. lol
Alaska on my Mind
Name of Maker: same
Alaska on my Mind - My husband and I took a cruise to Alaska in 2002 for our 30th anniversary. Of course, I found quilt shops in almost each town and at Skagway there were 2 shops! He bought me a wonderful amount of hand dyed fabrics along with the pattern for this quilt. It is a wonderful memory of our cruise. It was a lot of fun.
Blue Ridge Beauty
Name of Maker: same
Blue Ridge Beauty - I saw this quilt in Quiltmaker magazine. It was designed by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville and I fell in love with it. However, I did not enjoy making it. Although I did end up using all my beige/cream scraps, go figure. So that meant several trips to the fabric shop. It did turn out very pretty and my mom just loves it. It it remains unquilted, which tends to happen a great deal with my tops.
Mennie's Baskets of Faith, Hope, Love, and Charity
Name of Maker: Laura Taivalkoski Hamilton
Mennie's Baskets of Faith, Hope, Love, and Charity - This was a block of the month quilt published by the Back Door Quilts. I also hand embroidered the optional blocks. I then used my own setting pattern, putting the baskets en pointe and using a scrappy, but ordered color set. The quilting was a simple feather, based on Laura Lee Fritz's published pattern.

Starry Path
Name of Maker: Sandy Lawrence
Starry Path - Inspiration was from a quilt photo by Mary Hickey in Sew Many Quilts Magazine, May-June 1998, page 10. There were no instructions for quilt so I sketched out the pattern to the size I wanted and made the quilt. It is used for our tablecloth in the dining room.
