Now you see me, Now you don't
Name of Maker: Yvonne Jenkins
Now you see me, Now you don't - Miniature quilt made from 80 x 1 inch blocks, foundation pieced in silks. An original block design inspired by Black and White "Tudor" buildings. Different orientation of fabrics and block rotation provide movement across the quilt top and the "now you see me now you don't" look of the quilt.
Almost Mini Blues
Name of Maker: Lorna Westfall
Almost Mini Blues - I needed to complete a mini quilt for my quilt guild in California. I found this design by Nancy Rogers and loved her use of blues and batiks. I adapted it so it would meet the 12" requirements--or so I thought. I was off enough in my seam allowances that it came out 13" square. :( It worked out in my favor in the end. I made another one for the guild and kept this "almost" mini quilt for myself.

Log Cabin Variation Quilt
Name of Maker: FayIlene
Log Cabin Variation Quilt - Even though I have been around quilting most of my life, I decided I wanted to start quilting as my personal hobby. The first book I purchased was "Start Quilting with Alex Anderson." I read the book from beginning to end and made many of the projects she published in that book. Because this block was so easy and fun to make, I made two quilt tops at the same time. The second one I sent to my friend in Japan.
Happy 60th Anniversary!
Name of Maker: FayIlene
Happy 60th Anniversary! - I made this quilt for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. Because I wanted to use many pictures, I was not able to find a pattern, so I had to make up the design. It was SO much fun looking through all of the old photo albums and choosing pictures that would depict our life on the farm and throughout to all five girls grown and with families of their own. My sisters and my niece came up before the party to help me tie the quilt, so the gift could be from all of us!
Flying High
Name of Maker: FayIlene
Flying High - I am making this quilt for my new Great Nephew, who will arrive in about a month. I wanted to use bright, fun fabrics to brighten his room. I tried to vary the blocks to create more interest. I made the quilt larger than a standard baby quilt because "Baby Hedlund" will probably be taller like his parents.

Wedding Quilt
Name of Maker: Sarah Huie
Wedding Quilt - I used the Baltimore Album Blocks that I started in a class back in 1995 to create a wedding quilt for my son and his wife. I had seen this setting at the Houston Quilt show and found a photo of it in QNL in the "photo finish" page in the December 2005 issue. The inpiration was a quilt made by Bonnie Keller called From Baltimore to Boisfort. Boy, was it challenging to figure out the dimensions and how to put it together with just a photo. I finished the quilt for their first anniversary in 2007.
