My Panda
Name of Maker: Julie Deuvall
My Panda - This is my original design I drew, hand appliqued and hand quilted. Will post a picture in my personal pictures of close up.
Starlight Garden
Name of Maker: Julie Deuvall
Starlight Garden - This was a challenge quilt for a local quilt shop. The challenge required you to use Kathy Hall's fabrics - center panel and numerous other colors and prints in the challenge quilt. I started in the center and just kept adding boarders. This quilt is made of all FLANNEL! Quilting it on my domestic machine was a bit of a chore, but it came out great. Kathy Hall came to the challenge quilt show. It was a lot of fun. Currently, this quilt is on my bed. My husband and I love the weight of it, especially during a cold winter in upstate NY.
Purple Velvet
Name of Maker: Wanda
Purple Velvet - This is a Kaleidoscope Stack n Whack quilt using Bethany Reynolds techinique/books. I have called it Purple Velvet because up close it looks like velvet and everyone just wants to touch it.
Christmas Stocking Quilt
Name of Maker: Julie Montgomery
Christmas Stocking Quilt - I had fabric left over from making pieced stockings and made up a simple design. I added the shimmery gold fabric just to add to the shine and giltz of the season. I started this quilt in 2006 but finally got it quilted in 2008. I machine pieced and combined machine and hand quilting.

Fan Serene
Name of Maker: Mary Witwer
Fan Serene - The fan is appliqued and embroidered with machine embroidery. It hangs in my hall with the other scroll pattern design by June Colburn. It is serende in my hallway as I approach my sewing room. I took a class from June several years ago. She is one of the calmest people I have ever met.
Heart Star Garden
Name of Maker: Mary Witwer
Heart Star Garden - This is one of my first quilts. What a huge binding! I made up the pattern and this is the second one. The first one went to my sweet friend, Kathy. My friend had to move all the way to California, and I knew her absence would be a loss for me. Hearts and stars were extremely popular then. At the bottom of the heart is a floral lace (which symbolizes the garden and personal growht), the stars are gold lame (representing the hopes and dreams for a better like), and the remaining fabric is cotton. The fabrics are from Jinny Beyer collection.
Angel
Name of Maker: Merle Ann Butler
Angel - When Merle Ann Butler lived in Virginia Beach, I commissioned her to make this wall hanging for me. I met her at a friend's home where Merle Ann was showing her angel quilts. She that making and selling these was her "bread and butter." She told us about her life. Although I could sew, I fell in love with her angels. I had fabric and lace that had meaning to me, so she made the quilt with those. She hand painted the face. Beautiful. she also sold her pattern to me, so I made some as gifts for my sister and brother. It took so many hours. I never saw one of those angel gilfts displayed. I wonder if they still have them.

Name of Maker: MaryLou Rupp
Mandala - From class on offset log cabin. I put it on point and the rest of design is original
Oh Susanna
Name of Maker: MaryLou Rupp
Oh Susanna - This is my first quilt. I didn't know any better. Named in honor of dear friend.
Fall
Name of Maker: MaryLou Rupp
Fall - I did my own color manipulation. Original design called for very crisp dark and light. I wanted colors to fade into each other.
Herb I & II
Name of Maker: Lynn Moodie Elkinton
Herb I & II - This quilt is the result of a workshop at the Allegre Retreat in 2004. Katie Pasquini-Masopust was the teacher. This is the best workshop I've ever taken and the result was better than I thought it would be! Design is derived from a photo of my cat, Herb. Herb has slept on this quilt, and is unimpressed by the ribbon it won. LME
