Birthday Card for Penny
Name of Maker: Sandy Harrison
Birthday Card for Penny - I was inspired by Ricky’s segment on quilted birthday cards, so I decided to make one for my friend and neighbor’s birthday last week. I printed the picture of her dog and the greeting on fabric with my inkjet printer and added the borders. I did hand quilt around the picture and greeting, but the rest is done with pink and clear seed beads. As I was about to sew up the pocket on the back, I decided to add some lavender flowers, so now it’s a sachet as well. She loved it!
Valentine
Name of Maker: sandyharrison
Valentine - After the success of my first quilted “birthday card”, I decided to try a Valentine for my significant other. This is also printed on fabric with my inkjet printer and quilted with seed beads. As I had decided that a lavender sachet would not really be a guy thing, I inserted a 5” x 8” magnet sheet from the craft store in the pocket before sewing it up, so he can stick it on the refrigerator.
Stars for my Astronomer
Name of Maker: Anne Armstrong
Stars for my Astronomer - This quilt was roughly based on a quilt called "Dark Stars" in a UK quilting magazine. I can't remember which one or who designed the quilt. In the end the borders were not the same. My son wanted a quilt made with red fabric, so these are a lot of red stars.
