Lovey Dove Dove - These block were put together and looked very pain to me. I placed the quilt on my quilt rack (with binding and all competed) and let it sit. I bought my Bernina 630E and the quilt started crying to me that it needed something more. I used Sharon Schamber's Delicate Stitch Quilting Designs USB stick. The quilt police will hunt me down for this one! I went straight through the backng. I broke the rules and it worked!!!
Baby Serger Quilt - My first seger quilt using a flatlock stitch. After pieced it was hand tied. I learned this method from my good friend Linda Tice. She works at Patchwork Plus in Dayton, VA.
Underground Railroad - Photo of quilt with Pillow cases and throw pillows of same fabric--my kitty, Sumatte loves to sleep on it.
I took a class for this quilt taught by Debbie Davis of the Quilt Rac--we had enjoyed sharing our blocks.
My Flying Carpet - The challenge was to use two fabrics in tints, tones and shades in a set block. This was a class exercise. The challenge was to put together a pleasing arrangement of the blocks. A design wall was an absolute necessity for the process.
Heirloom Quilt - This quilt was made for my daughters mother-in-law for a birthday gift from her 3 sons.
They chose the poem in the center and I did the rest.
Toddler quilt - This quilt was designed to fit the toddler bed. The quilts or blankets are either to big or to small.
My granddaughter still has it today and she is going to be 11 in December.
Baby Flannel Quilt - This baby quilt is all flannel for softness. I find that baby's love the feel of flannel. It is a basic
trip around the world pattern.
My first quilt - This quilt was the very first quilt I had ever made. It is also the quilt that made me fall in love with
quilting. It was a challange and boy did I love it. I have not stopped quilting since.
NOW - I like the idea of using words on my quilts. The meaning of the word and the shapes of the letters all blend in to make the artwork give a feeling of what it is to be present in the moment.
Name of Maker: Lynda Galloway and Quilting Fans Guild members
Salute to a Veteran - All fabric was donated and guild members each made a block. I put it together with print blocks and quilted it by machine. It was one of 30+ quilts made by Quilting Fans Quilt Guild and donated to the new War Veteran's Home in Reserve, LA when it was opened this year.
Pink Frogs a Jumpin' - This has a large center of green frogs on pink fabric, bordered by prints and solids and finished with a purple border for Kenedy, her favorite color.
The Joy of Kittens - I made this for my firstborn granddaughter on August 3, 2007, finished on November 3, 2007. It is kittens in a kitchen, reading books on the floor and baking. Lindsey loves kittens.
It's a Corker - A wall hanging or table runner for my "Wine Aficionado" family members. This was the first time that I used my BSR with ease. I also used metallic thread to quilt this.
Quilted Heart - I made this quilt for a relative and when she is old enough to appreciate it, I will give it to her. Unless someone offers to buy it (and I can make her another one). For it is not a set thing when you amek a quilt.
